I went 15 minutes out of my way to come here with the family after apple picking, because the pictures and the reviews looked good. Well let me tell you, if there’s a burger worth $13.50 and an hour wait (literally), this ain’t it.
Summary: pretzel was very good, shakes and fries were good, burger were ok (overcooked and dry), servers were nice and friendly, service was bad cause I waited for over an hour and my order was skipped numerous times.
When we arrived, they let us know that it was cash only because the wifi was down. That’s ok I said, the place wasn’t packed and they gave us the option to order online cause I didn’t have enough cash. I placed the food order online at 5:52pm and it said 25 minutes wait, meanwhile the place started getting packed. When the food was “about to get out”, per my estimate, I went and ordered some coffee and 2 milkshakes. In the line I met Mr. King who was placing an order and behind him another family. They called me for the coffee and shakes, and the food was still in the making, we’ve been waiting for 35 minutes by now, but it was packed, so I guessed that was it. 15 minutes later, we’re still waiting, the kids are cranky and we’re getting a bit desperate… and they serve Mr. King his food. Now I’m sure something happened with my order cause they skipped me, I wait for the next order and it was for the other family I met in the line. Now we’ve been waiting almost an hour and the front of the kitchen is packed waiting on orders to go. At 6:52pm I get up to cancel the order and ask for a refund, and before I speak they ask me if I am X and if the order was for here or to go, I figured the order is done, might as well just get it, so I tell them it was for here. Then they start setting it up and served us after an hour and 10 minutes since I placed the order. The food was ok, the best part was the pretzel, but for $10, it seemed small. The fries were good, the milkshakes were also good, but the burgers were dry and overcooked. Oh and a meal was missing and they had to go make it. The girls working there were friendly and they tried to provide a good service, and if it was just “too packed cause the system is down”, I can understand that, but they skipped my order many times, and that is a problem with organization.
I write this review because I came here thanks to other reviews, and probably you should too and give them a chance, maybe you’ll have better luck. But if there was a way to know I was gonna get home 1.5 hours later with a baby and a toddler, I would have gone...
Read moreDelicious. Truffle fries were amazing. Burger was tasty and felt like it was made on purpose with well chosen ingredients and pride in making it all happen. I got an adult patty (1/3 lb), cheese, and then a couple complimentary toppings and a hand dipped milkshake. My daughter had a kids patty (1/5 lb), cheese, and a couple complimentary toppings and a hand dipped milkshake as well. I got fries as a side with mine and ordered a side of truffle fries. The total came to $76 if I remember correctly. Maybe I'm poor but that was a little shocking. I expected bougie pricing based on the atmosphere and air of high quality (which is deserved!) but yowza. Their claim to fame is gourmet hotdogs and their ice cream/shakes. I wish I could say I'd be back for sure. There's another place in the same town that sounded, on Google maps, to be similar-ish that I will give a chance to next time I happen to be stopping in that town on my way back from Shenandoah. I would probably do that even if the price was...
