On August 12, I went to the Santorini Grill expecting good Greek food. What I found was a restaurant serving mostly American food with some Greek dishes. I ordered a chicken gyro thinking a Greek Restaurant would make a good one. To my surprise, it was awful. Consisted of three pre-cooked, pre-sliced, purchased frozen from a vendor, slices of chicken bologna. It looked unappetizing, however, I gave it a chance and took one bite. The box that the so called chicken was shipped in had more flavor than the thin chicken strips! I took it back to the counter and asked them to exchange it for a cheeseburger. Didn't want a fight or to knock their food, so said " just didn't care for it" placing no blame on anyone. All restaurants graciously make that trade. The manager at Santorini Grill gets into " what is wrong with it". I tell him "it was not what I was expecting for a chicken gyro". He keeps at it so I finally tell him what most places serve for a chicken gyro and he says they don't do it that way (marinated chicken, grilled, and than chopped). He says he can "sell me a cheeseburger," I say no I wont pay for two lunches. All in all horrible food,...
Read moreI hestiate to rate lower than 4 stars because this is a nice spot in an area with not much else around, and they seem like nice people. But I can't say the gyro was all that great and the fries were just OK. The meat just didn't taste like the kind that was sliced fresh off one of those rotisserie things. But I could be wrong. The fries are supposed to be greek fries but they seemed like typical prebattered fries out of a bag that you could get anywhere. Zero greek seasoning. I get things are expensive, but $16 for a gyro and fries (no drink)? Seemed like a lot given what you got. Again, seems like a nice local spot but i'm not sure this is a traditional greek place. Maybe it was just a bad visit and other menu items are a...
Read moreI’m really not a picky person when it comes to salads, but does this seem like a $12 greek salad? I wanted a quick, “healthier” option as I headed out of Berryville. McDonald’s was definitely not going to cut it. Then I stumbled onto Santorini’s menu that showed they had a few salad options. When calling in my order, I asked the gentleman what the Santorini salad came with (toppings, dressing etc..), and the most I got out of him was “chicken”. I then decided to try the Greek salad because who can go wrong with one of those? Upon receiving, I’m wondering if the salad was mistaken and I was provided something else. Two greek olives, a tiny sprinkle of feta, and tomato slices the size of a whole tomato. Disappointed is an...
