Wendy's — Restaurant in Bertrand Township

I've eaten at this Wendy's on and off since I was a kid, so roughly 25 years. For the most part the food is delicious, the staff is great, and when the dining room was open we loved eating inside. I've had more good experiences here than not, however I would probably say that since Covid happened the quality of pretty much every restaurant has gone downhill, but I've noticed it a lot more with this Wendy's location. The last time we came through the Drive-Thru (it appears to be the only thing that's available to use as the doors are always locked), the line was almost to the road. There was a male staff member with his Wendy's uniform on sitting against the RX building absolutely chiefing multiple cigarettes and a vape pen. The line took 35 mins to get through, and when we got to the window there were only two young girls working their butts off, very clearly stressed and overwhelmed. I understand the kid outside may have been clocked out and waiting for a ride home, but for 30 minutes we had a plain view of him almost directly in front of us, and it looked super unprofessional. Went to the restaurant in Niles. I tried to get a grilled chicken wrap with no bread. They said they couldn't do it. I travel all over Michigan and Indiana and every Wendy's I go to does for me. Apparently the my Wendy's in the town I live in will not do it because "it would be a salad" but they can do it with a sandwich. I'm thinking in my head that would be the world's smallest salad and I always get it and it's just a little tiny bit of lettuce and chicken in a bowl. Nothing nowhere near the size of a salad. When they told me they can't I said forget it told my husband to just get his food and told the girl I didn't want it. When I got home I noticed that I received not only what I didn't order but they charged me for a wrap I can't eat because I'm to the bread. I called and they said all sales are finalized. The food is good. I always order lunch & dinner off of the value menu because that's all I can afford. If I go out for breakfast I usually SPLURGE & get the breakfast baconator. They are DELICIOUS! 😋 And I love the free frosty key tag. I use that a LOT! 👍 I will say that service has declined a bit & not all of the servers are friendly. And you do have to remind them to put the utensils in the bag. EVERY! SINGLE! TIME! Also, I KNOW where the pick-up window is. LOL. The guy doesn't HAVE to THROW HIMSELF halfway out the window & yell "HI!" at me. EVERY 2 SECONDS! LOL! I see you dude! But I'm getting my money straight before I pull up to the window!
