Laverne’s Tavern is an absolute hidden gem in Berwyn. With easy parking and a great location, this spot delivers an exceptional take on classic American bar food—except they’ve perfected it and elevated it to a whole new level.

From the moment we sat down, everything we ordered was spot on. This isn’t just your typical bar food; it’s bar food done right in a comfortable, restaurant-style environment.

We started with the Italian beef eggrolls, and wow—these blew my socks off. Scoring a solid 9.2/10, they were exactly what you’d imagine: a Chicago-style Italian beef wrapped in a crispy wonton roll, deep-fried to perfection, and served over a bed of arugula with a delicious house-made Italian dressing. This dish is an absolute must-try if you’re in the area.

Next, we had the chicken wings, which earned an impressive 8.7/10. Served plain with Buffalo sauce on the side and a house-made ranch, these wings were not breaded, fried to crispy perfection, and cooked just right on the inside.
