Mr Taco Cicero — Restaurant in Cicero

This is a great, hole in the wall taco place with five 4-person tables (and two smaller tables as well) and late night hours (until 3am, and 4:30am on Friday and Saturday). There's a bathroom in case of emergency. The guys all know me, know my order (steak taco dinner with two tacos, not three), and make it exactly the same way every time. The green hot sauce is really good, and the carrots and jalapeños (Escabeche? Who in Cicero calls it that) are plentiful and also really, really good. The steak tacos start with a piece of steak, tossed on the grill and cooked fresh for you (not a bunch of dried out steak pieces that have been sitting on the grill for hours). It is not the finest cut of meat, but damn does it taste good when it's seasoned and grilled. The cheese is placed directly on the grill and the corn tortillas are placed on top of that. After 28-plus years. Never again. Today was our anniversary. Due to my husband's and my different tastes, he order from Mr taco and I got something from a different restaurant. We get home to find they didn't give him his correct order. For 10 years I have been with him, he has only ordered the number 11 with chicken (he HATES steak) with only sour cream and tomato. We live about 5 blocks away and thought we would call to get our correct order. The second person on the phone said "He (my husband) never asked for chicken." Therefore they will not replace/correct the order. After the cost of the single order and my husband correctly saying what he wants (the same thing for 28 years). You would think they will just replace it for the chicken. Nope. Not their problem if the girl (who took the order) didn't listen to my husband's order.

So clearly they don't care about their customers and don't need us wasting our time or money there. We are extremely disappointed.

I ordered steak burrito. They steak is ground beef. Poorest quality of meat it was suspicious as i ate it as it was not tasting like steak .i paid for 2 steak burritos 2 steak tacos and an horchata it totlaed to about $40. Plus they charge to use the credit card fine i get it but the food was garbage the burritos were skinny .no avocado no chese ( avocado and sour cream i had some at home) i wanted to give a small place like this a chance but what i think they done me is robbed me of a good meal plus they robbed me of my time paid of a high price.thanks to these people my money will continue to go to mcdonalds ,burgerking or taco bell.just because someone amswers phone nice or they your people dont mean anything take your money to big reputable establishments.
