My biggest complaint is the food handling. I work in the food industry and a manager for a large brand that I won't name. With that being said we are always about food safety. We go through classes and ecosure etc.....Anyway I ordered a few items today and couldn't help but notice the gentleman preparing the food already had one blue glove on but not the other that was the first sign. He put another one on without washing his hands that was the second sign. So he proceeded to ask me for my order. I told him what I wanted and he got to work, but when he turned his head I noticed that he had an earbud in...that was the third sign. I wanted to walk out then but I didn't which I should've because then I saw him remove his earbud with his right hand which was already gloved when I walked in, he proceeded to stick his pinky finger in his ear with the glove on and put the earbud back into his ear and continued to touch the food. He touched his earbud quite a few times as I stood there and watched him make my order. Then as I was leaving I glanced over to him and he was scrolling on his phone with that same glove on but the other one was removed. Not too mention that the first time I went there the cook at that did something similar, as he was preparing my order with the same blue gloves that they wear. I witnessed him pull the brim of his hat up with one hand and wipe his forehead with the other. My wife and I love Mediterranean food and we don't find it in Berwyn so I figured I'd let that first instance slide and give it another shot. Although after witnessing what happened today I don't think I'll be visiting this place again. With everything going around nowadays we need to be safer while handling food for customers. It just came off as they didn't care our safety. When I got home I told my wife about the experience and sadly we both agreed to throw the food away as we were not going to a chance on becoming ill. I don't mean to be negative but it is what it is. Hopefully things change, but I will not...
Read moreFrom the moment that I walked in with my family, we were greeted in a friendly and professional manner. We ordered a half dozen falafel which were freshly made for our order and we can say that it was the best falafel that we've had compared to other places that we've been to! We also had some lentil soup which was very flavorful and felt like a very warm hug. For our main meal we had a chicken kebab and steak shawarma bowl, as well as a chicken shawarma bowl. The chicken kebab and shawarma were both filled with flavor, and very tender! What stood out was the nice roasted flavor on the chicken kebab which let us know that it was fresh! The steak shawarma was also very tender with the perfect amount of seasoning and, unlike other places it was not dry at all! All of our toppings were very fresh and they did not taste like they had been sitting out all day. To finish it off we also had their baklava for dessert which was beyond delicious! It had a perfect crisp but yet fluffy texture with a nice sweet touch to it. I can happily say that we do not need to travel very far for a great dinner as we now have a perfect local...
Read moreHORRIBLE service. They handed out a complimentary sandwich for their 6 month opening celebration which was nice. However, when I went back up to the counter to order another sandwich that I was PAYING for, they made my sandwich small just like the free sandwiches. My sandwich should have been bigger because I ordered from them previously. When I questioned the co-owner who has a nasty attitude, I caught him in a lie admitting the PURCHASED sandwiches are bigger than the free ones. When I told him he charged me full price for a smaller portion, he got defensive and said he was busy and couldn't talk anymore. There are 2 co-owners of this restaurant. The heavy set co-owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. The other co-owner is extremely pleasant and professional. I strive to support local businesses but I will not tolerate disrespect and lies. I will not...
