Waffle House — Restaurant in Bessemer

I just left this waffle house and had a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. I am not sure who the young girl is at the register but she needs training on professionalism and customer service. She honestly should not be working in customer service. I ordered a pick up order and when I arrived my order was sitting out next to the register. She could have easily rung up my order real quick and then waited on the table (who's food was still cooking) afterward. Instead, neither she nor the woman that was giving orders from the stove greeted me or even acknowledged me, and my food just sat there. They were only concerned about a group of four people that were sitting at a booth that she waited on before me (while my food just sat there). She took them their food, and even went back to the cook to fix something that was wrong with their order before finally saying "You had the to-go order?" I confirmed and asked for my total. She rolled her eyes then said, "I gotta get my book" in a very unpleasant tone. So as I waited for her to "get her book" and give me a total, she eventually looked at me then gave me a total after pointing to my food on the OTHER SIDE OF THE REGISTER as if she was suggesting I should grab the bag on the other side of the register myself! I was treated this way after watching others be "waited" on as if I wasn't even worthy of being handed my bag of food that had been sitting there. Nevertheless, I still thanked her after paying and received my food. I said thank you ma'am twice with no response. By the third, "Thank you ma'am" She mumbled "You're welcome" and rolled her eyes again as if I had insulted her. I am just confused because shouldn't she be the one "thanking me for my service?" But again, I guess I wasn't worth that either. If someone from the corporate office sees this and you have cameras, it's definitely worth the playback. To those who stop by there regularly around this time, BEWARE! There's a new little rude girl in there that probably attends school with my son based on her little jacket that has an unapologetically NASTY ATTITUDE and needs TO LEARN HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE. Well maybe not all people, just those that look like her. Maybe she simply did what we so often see on reality tv where black women fight but I want her to know I'm not her enemy. I just wanted my food and to be treated like a decent human especially after by passing so many other places that could gotten my money and I could've gotten better service. Around 8:45-9pm I order a all star original with cheese eggs and peanut butter waffle , I was told the total including tax would be 8.90 which is expected . My friend tried calling to make another order and the staff were constantly decling the call , I know this because when I arrived they had 1 customer . 9:10 Pm I came in to pick up my food and the black lady at the register added a to go fee to my tab as well as “extra” tax . Over the phone I was told 8.90 total including tax but when I get there , there is a to go fee plus tax..? First of all there is no such thing as a to go fee and second I ask the lady we’ll, what if I decided to eat here and I had to leave would I still get charged a to go fee ? Her response was “yes” I’ve been to multiple restaurants including Waffle House multiple times and I have never heard of such to go fee. I responded telling her this has never been a problem and I have never gotten charged a to go fee . She responds “You’re going to have to take that up with my manager” When I responded “well I’ll go to another Waffle House than” the black man behind the counter spoke abruptly saying “GO THERE THAN! “ and the black female at the register said “Go to McDonald’s we don’t care. “ Aswell as the black man behind the counter slowly following me out the store as if he wants a physical altercation , smh. very rude and crooked staff and will be reported to corporate . Food is always great and luckily I've had awesome servers except for one time at this location and the times I've been back I haven't seen that particular server again so everything was great!!!!! Service is always number one to me bc if there's something wrong with the food a great server is going to fix it to make you happy in which makes the whole experience at the restaurant a good one even if the food was ok that's my opinion I can deal with so,so food as long as the service was good and if it's a smart server they should know if they take care of you most are good tippers like myself I tip extremely well if my service was good even if the food wasn't the best. The times I've visited here I've been very happy with the food and service 99% and the one percent the service wasn't great the food was!!!! Thank you for the great food, great service, very welcoming & invited back everytime I paid my ticket I don't know if they tell everyone but they've always invited me back which means a lot to me bc it makes me feel like they enjoyed me being there eating in their restaurant and they want me to come back again so I really appreciate that.
