Gallegos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bethany

I've been a few times and it was EXCELLENT every time! Waiters and waitresses are very friendly!

Here's what I've tried:

Bethany Burrito: lots of flavor on the carne asada. Tender meat. Lots of jalapeno inside. Might be too spicy for some but I loved it.

Menudo: broth was full of flavor and the tripe was perfect! Not to chewy but not too soft either. Took my leftover broth home and made ramen with it! Good again!

California Burrito: OMG! it was massive! Half chicken, half beef. Chicken was super tender and moist. Full of flavor!

Queso Blanco: Best I've had in a long time! Perfect consistency. Great flavor!

Asada Fries: these are great too! I think yummy fries are like battered some how.. they are SERIOUSLY some good fries! The next time I came, I got them as my side instead of rice.

Refried Beans: Their beans are sooo DELICIOUS! Might be my favorite Refried Beans at a restaurant! TIP: dip your fries in the beans and you won't regret it!

Side of Veggies: Yum! If you like veggies, these are yummy. Cooked well and seasoned well. I thought one was a squash but it was too firm so I asked the waiter and he said it was a "yellow carrot". Really good whatever it was!

Habanero Salsa: if you like spicy, try this! Not just spicy but tastes good too. Good heat good flavor.

Carne Asada plate: PERFECT! Juicy tender and flavourful.

Guacamole: yummy too 😋

Only things we didn't care for were the TAMALES... bland...

Gallegos Mexican Restaurant was one of the most surprisingly great meals I have had in a long time. The restaurant was not very busy and the menu felt a little Tex-Mex (i.e. less authentic) at first, but once we requested the spicy salsa and tasted it, we knew it was game on. That salsa was incredible, easily a top three salsa I have ever had, perfectly spicy and full of flavor. We had the ground beef chile rellenos and steak guisada. The rellenos were spot on, exactly what you would hope for, but the guisada absolutely stole the show. It was hands down the best guisada I have ever had, period. No other way to describe it. I could not have made it better myself. The sides were solid, rice maybe an 8 out of 10, but everything else was over the top. The ladies working the floor were so attentive and caring, checking in frequently to make sure everything was perfect. They truly cared that we had a great experience. I cannot believe this place does not have a line out the door. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. I hope they keep up what I experienced and more people...

Interestingly enough, at Friday 1130a we were the only ones there; seated immediately.

Polite waitress took drink orders. Wife was blown away by the Paloma. My water was sufficient.

I ordered lunch Fajitas, steak. She, huevos rancheros and another Paloma.

We also asked for flour tortillas. My plate arrives extremely fast. We assume hers was to follow. I begin eating, she doesn't mind. Half way through we inquire about the huevos rancheros. "yes." and she would scurry away. Came back, asked if we wanted sopapias. We agreed but said after her meal..

Huevos. Asked again.. Yes ok one moment.

3rd time. Confused look. I got frustrated and broke it down.. We ordered Fajitas, for me, and huevos rancheros for her. She grabbed a menu and we had to show her what we were talking about. 10min later she was finally eating..
