I really wanted to like this place, bec of the reviews... but, you get what you pay for ($5.29 lunch special).

Apparently, the special is priced so low that they can't hire someone to clean tables so, nine of the tables were a mess. Between those; the waitress's oily, stringy hair; the TV blasting a cooking show; the dirty dishes and trash left on my own table; the stained, torn napkins she brought me; the guy talking loudly on his cell phone [yes, I believe it is management's responsibility to ask people to take their phone conversations outside] and the bland pork stir-fry, my stomach was in knots and I could not finish my meal. I told her why I was tipping only $1 (she took her pen but not my empty bowl and trash) and she laughed at me. I could have not told her a reason. I could have not tipped at all.

If you want respect, good food, good service, go somewhere else.

Lai Thai: raise your price to $7.29 so that you can afford hire a busboy and buy the waitress...

My family and I have been eating here since I was in high-school....20 years man....and when I tell you...I almost cried when I got my order last week. They have new owners.....different food.....this is NOT Lai Thai as we all once knew and I feel they should change their name. It is false advertisement. The calibre of food......nowhere NEAR what it was. I mean, I REALLY want to cry!!! No one cooked like them in the city....my mom moved to Florida and no one THERE cooks like them. When I say, they will always have a piece of me....i hope all is well with the family. Food was great. They accommodated a group of 8 of us FAA students. Appetizers, specifically the fried spring rolls and the medium Hot and "Thai" hot fried wings were good. I ordered the seafood combo with fried rice. It had a sweet savory taste, not spicy at all and the fried rice was good, comparable to one's I've eaten in Pattaya and Bangkok. Pim was our server and cashier, very nice and sweet. She gave us good service and topped off our waters and teas. After we order ordered our appetizers came out really quick, hot, and fresh. Amongst the eight of us we ordered quite a bit, but the food came out and just the right...
