I am literally shaking writing this review because I am so excited. I just got home from dinner at Asian Kitchen. Every Sunday I go out to dinner with my kids, my brother & his wife, and our grandfather (who normally can’t stand anything other than Arby’s roast beef!)
We didn’t know where to eat, but we had to be fast, so we saw this place and we figured we would stop in and have a bite before I had to bring the kids over to their mothers house in Danbury.
As soon as I opened the door I was delighted to see such an immaculately clean restaurant. The space was so beautiful, I just couldn’t believe it. And the menu, what a menu! There were pages of dishes I have never heard of. Everything sounded, as my kids would say, “high key good!”
I had thought I was just getting basic sesame chicken when I ordered. Boy could I have not been more wrong.
Every bite I took was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Our entire table was moaning in ecstasy from how good their food was. Grandpa was slurping his pho so fast his teeth almost fell out. I nearly got into a fist fight with my brother when he tried to sneak a bite of my egg roll.
And the staff, such incredible people. Our waitress was so nice that I asked her if she had time to babysit my kids next weekend!
This was the best meal I have ever had, period. Full stop. All other Asian restaurants in the entire state of Connecticut are officially canceled. Asian Kitchen is going to live rent free in my mind until I have the honor to eat there once again. As my kids would say “It just...
Read moreWhat a shame! My husband and my favorite Asian restaurant in Bethel! I've eaten here so many times, the owner is always friendly and welcoming. His wife is not however. The food is great!!
BUT:
The last time my husband was there he just got out of work & ordered food to go for himself and decided to eat it there. It was 30 minutes before closing.
The owners wife completely lost it on him. Stating he needed to go as they were cleaning.
All he wanted was to eat his food there and he would have been out way before closing.
He would have definitely left a tip, but she yelled at him, that he just wanted to eat there with no tip and wasted her time. Awful!
It was disheartening to say the least. He actually tried to talk to her husband and explain the situation as he heard all of it but He had absolutely no apology and just defended his wife's inappropriate treatment of him as a long time customer!
Customers of myself and my husband have recommended Asian Kitchen to many friends of ours but, no more.
Great food, nice atmosphere. Always had a great experience until she got involved. Heard this from other customers as well. Attitude...
Read moreI saw the reviews for this place and almost thought it was too good to be true. Decided to give it a shot and extremely happy I did.
I got the general tso's chicken, the crispy duck in the pork dumplings. First off the portions are gigantic almost twice what you normally get. The general tso's chicken was unbelievably good not soggy and the perfect level of spice. The duck was very good as well and the dumplings were out of this world. It literally took a few bites to realize this was not your usual overly sweet overly salty Chinese food.
Upon arrival to pick up my food I was given a free lemonade which was also fantastic. I am going to make it my mission to try almost everything on the menu. My only suggestion is that the restaurant is not that visible from outside, I wasn't even aware the restaurant was open driving by it for months. In conclusion I think I found my new Asian restaurant in town.
Oh and the pineapple in lychee nuts...
