Grassy Plain Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Bethel

Decided to order through grubhub tonight and wanted to try a different local pizza restaurant than usual and one that was fairly close by so the delivery driver didn’t have to go too far. Anyhow, I came across grassy plain pizzeria & restaurant and ordered a pizza (diavola), hot wings and an antipasto salad. I recommend ordering the hot sauce on the side so they don’t arrive soggy. You can tell the wings were crispy prior to being delivered so that was my fault for not remembering to order the sauce on the side. They were still delicious. The salad was a decent portion and GREAT price, I think this will be my new favorite salad spot since I order a salad 3-4 days a week. I love how they actually added onions not many restaurants add onions to their salad. If they do it’s like 2-3 little slices and I always have to request more or for them to add them. I also love how they have enough dressing on the side. Many restaurants give a small 2 oz dressing for a large salad. They gave me 2 4-6oz dressings for my salad and another one for my wings. Not sure the exact size but they are looked closer to 6oz which is amazing because I love my dressings. They also followed instructions perfectly. Cooked my pie well done and also taped the box shut. Many restaurants don’t read the special instructions and end up making my food wrong. Now the reason I’m giving 3 stars is because there were no Calabrian chili’s (peppers) on my pie which were stated in the description.I don’t know maybe I grabbed a slice that didn’t have any on it. I love calabrian chilies which is why I purchased this pizza but there was just sauce, mozzarella and sausage. I didn’t notice the other 2 ingredients that were mentioned in the description. Maybe it just needs more Calabrian chilies to be noticeable. Also, the sauce was really slimy, it was really strange I’ve never had slimy sauce before. It was also really bland. Not much flavor. I would definitely try again maybe it was an off night. I just wouldn’t order that...

Food was very good. Got the penna with vodka sauce. After eating a few bites notice a thin, what I thought was a stick from an herb they used. After taking it out and finding another piece I observed it closer and it was a thin piece of metal. Like you would get off a brush type of scrubber. Brought it up to the owner to show him. Apparently since they have nothing in their kitchen that would do that and there was no sauce still on it. He didn’t believe me. Explained I had it in my fingers trying to figure out what it was and maybe the sauce came off. He must have said the same thing over and over. I said if you think for one minute I came in here with tiny pieces of metal, to put in a meal you are mistaken. You see sir it had to of come from your kitchen. Since the food went from there to our table. So basically no apology from him. He turned around walked away And said nothing. I’m very upset that I was called a liar!!!! I’ve never written a review before. But I’m still pissed. He did not charge us for that meal. But my meal which I had to stop eating once that happened. (Just bothered me) We were charged for. I usually never leave such a harsh review, but this had me incredibly upset. I ordered a dinner dish and asked for it to be delivered and my total came to $19.47, and for your food to be delivered it has to be $20. For starters, I live not even .4 miles away and when they told me they couldn’t do that for me, just really got me feeling some type of way. I informed them if that’s the case, I’ll just pick it up. However, I have food allergies and made some specific requests and a second after I hang up the phone, I get a call from the owner telling me that he cannot make my meal because of my allergy requests. Mind you, I just asked if they could not use butter on my meal, and just put the pasta in a separate container. I didn’t think I was asking for much....?
