This little Mexican joint sits right next to a university, tucked along the roadside. It has a classic takeout-focused vibe, but what brought me here was the taco menu. They serve tongue, beef head, tripe, lamb — all that’s missing is buche (stomach)!
I ordered six different kinds, including the birria taco. For drinks, I went with horchata, which tasted just as good as expected. The beef head taco was delicious, and the standout was the tripe — super tasty! Surprisingly, it wasn’t as juicy as I expected (places like this usually go heavy on the oil), but still solid. The birria deserves special praise — the broth was packed with toppings and flavor. Impressive!
Service-wise, it’s your standard to-go spot — nothing fancy, but efficient. Still, this is definitely a must-visit in the area, especially if you’re looking for the widest taco filling...
Read moreReally good food at an amazing price. Chicken flautas, enchiladas and guacamole were all amazing. The server was so nice and very attentive. We will be back here very soon. The home-made sauces were the freaking best I've had. A very bright and tangy salsa Verde that was so mild my 9 year old was using a spoon for it at one point. The opaque green sauce was so good and a decent medium heat. The dark red sauce was seriously the best most complex and beautiful sauce I've ever had then it quickly turned into one of the hottest I've ever had! Seriously, it took ten minutes to recover from the heat but I'm not kidding when I say it might have been worth it. Seriously a very underpriced place. Give it a shot, you won't be...
Read moreI called and asked if they served Caldo de Res and the woman had a heavy Spanish accent and said she wasn't sure her English was not that good. So I asked her in Spanish if they had called out the rest and she said yes. I drove all the way there and ordered Caldo de Res and what I got was a big plate of rice and a check. I noticed on the menu they had beef soup so I don't know if it was a Communications issue or what the waitress was a young person who spoke perfect English so I'm not sure if she knew what Caldo de Res is. I'm from Texas and every time I've ordered this soup in Houston and San Antonio I've ordered it as Caldo de Res and I have received beef soup. I'm not sure if I want to go back but the rice was...
