This place is a hidden gem and was a very pleasant and rewarding surprise for me and my wife to have stumbled upon during our weekend in Allentown. The dining area is somewhat small, so a personal suggestion to order take out if you have a group larger than 5 or so because that’s probably 50-60% of the in person dining area. Definitely not a knock on the place though, I thought it was a very homely atmosphere and enjoyed my meal a lot. The food is outstanding and felt very authentically Mexican for those who are particular about that kind of thing.
The sweet old lady(I’m assuming the owner) that served us was very attentive and even offered us some homemade spicy salsa while we were munching on the chips after we mentioned we tend to favor spicier foods. On that note, not usually worth mentioning but the chips were particularly well made being the perfect texture/crunch without really feeling oily at all.
And then the actual food itself — chef’s kiss, couldn’t ask for a better value for the flavor, quantity and value. Feel like you really can’t go wrong with the menu. We got the got the torta and either the sope or tostada(can’t remember which) and I wanted to go back the next day for more.
Sheesh I kind of feel like an advertiser being so positive given I don’t really leave reviews very often….but this place left a wonderfully positive impression and I wanted to spread the good vibes 🤗. Hope someone found...
Read moreWe were just driving by and decided to stop. The food was fresh. The salsa and chips were homemade. The salsa was like a flavorful pico de gallo. We got the 3 steak tacos that were on different colored taco shells. The steak was seasoned. We also got the gorditas. The corn shell was soft in the middle but crispy on the outside. They were packed. They also gave us a side of guacamole to try.. OMG!. The best hole in the wall we have tried in a long time. The customer service was amazing. He explained how the things were made and what everything was. It's small but you can eat in. We got flan to go. They also had a variety of homemade juices and bottled mexican drinks. What a great...
Read moreBased off of my one-taco experience.. The staff are very friendly and the food delicious. I spent some time talking to one of the owners and learned this business opened about 9 months ago and is family-run. They make their tortillas fresh to order and only make small batches of meat throughout the day so that it is always as fresh as possible. As far as I know, they are the only Mexican restaurant around here that makes fresh tortillas.
The one owner is trying to convince her sister to make Tres Leches cake for them to sell in the store alongside their flan. If you go, ask them to add Tres Leches cake to the menu so that I can buy it once...
