I am not a vegan but I eat Vegan Treats because I am allergic to dairy (butter, animal milk, cream cheese, etc.) and I love baked goods. Overall, I think Vegan Treats is a great place that makes pretty and tasty treats but there is room for improvement (things I dislike about Vegan Treats). Their prices, I think are fair for the labor and ingredients used. They could show customer appreciation by marking down a cake flavor of the month ($1.00 off so $6.25 for the mini cakes) or do a stamp card for the ice cream - buy 10 get one free or 50% off. For the loyal customer following they have - they could do something. A birthday club - free something on your birthday. This review offers things I like about Vegan Treats, things I dislike about Vegan Treats, and brief insight into vegan baking. Vegan Treats Likes Visual appeal (decorating skills - amazing) Delicious soft serve - with lots of great flavors changing weekly Spots to sit in-store Passion for animals that inspired Vegan Treats Whoppie pies (Less expensive than the cakes @ $4.25, flavorful, and well iced) Overall taste - I like most things I have gotten from Vegan Treats. Delicious. Store hours - open later til 9 or 10 pm depending on the day Great place to go if you have a food allergy (more below) Seasonal items - festive with great attention to detail and thoughtfulness Instagram account - lots of great pictures of the products Donuts and other yeast-based products made fresh daily Vegan Treats Dislikes Lack of vanilla cakes (Only 2 I know of confetti and coconut) Cheesecakes - taste like tofu (Raspberry Coconut - best one if you want to try a cheesecake) Inconsistency - to the credit of Vegan Treats - they are very successful and hardworking but I think they have a quality control issue. I buy the confetti cake more than anything because I prefer vanilla cake but the texture varies, the amount of sprinkles varies, and a few times it tasted like flour - like the batter wasn't mixed properly. Knowledge of counter staff - if I ask about what is in one of the desserts - more often than not the person I ask has to ask someone else what is in the dessert Size of the plates if you eat in the store - they are too big for small desserts Management is not the friendliest - Vegan Treats products speak a lot for themselves and they make people happy. I think it's unfortunate that such a great product isn't backed by people that radiate the same happiness as their products. There is a disconnect there. I'm not sure what it is but Vegan Treats is a top bakery and I think a top bakery would be kind to everyone and anyone that entered their because kindness to customers is good for business. In summary, Vegan Treats offers a wide array of delicious vegan baked goods. About Vegan Baking Vegan baking is the same process as traditional baking but the products are swapped out to use ones that don't come from animals (the premise is based on the treatment of animals and not using them as a food source - ie. animal's have rights, too). The same is true for gluten-free baking. The process is the same and products are swapped out. So in vegan baking, for example, almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, are used instead of cow's milk. Cornstarch and water instead of eggs. Coconut oil instead of butter. Maple syrup instead of honey. In gluten- free baking, flour made from wheat is swapped with coconut or almond flours. Note - gluten - free baking - would still use cow's milk and eggs. It's not vegan unless otherwise noted. For the most part, vegan and gluten-free baked goods taste the same (if not better than regular baked goods). Again, the only time I think this is not true is when tofu is used in cheesecakes -I am not a fan. Sometimes vegan cheesecakes are made with cashews and these taste way better in my opinion. In essence, vegan baking and regular baking produce delicious sweets with different ingredients.

oh my goodness. As a vegan, I was ~happily~ overwhelmed that I could eat anything in this shop. Everything we tried was delicious. (We also had a GF mandarin white chocolate chip cookie that we couldn’t even tell was GF!!) The people working were so super sweet. PLEASE go here if you’re in the area! Maybe bring a freezer and stock up if you live far. We wish we did! Lol Pictured is the first vegan cannoli I have ever seen and tried, and it was incredible. (only downside is they don’t have an espresso bar, so we stopped to get coffee beforehand to enjoy with the treats) **Note for the owners: your desserts are incredible and your employees are amazing, but perhaps consider getting air conditioning. My family and I have owned restaurants, so we know how hot it can get in a busy kitchen. But I feel bad for guests and workers with how hot it got in the storefront. The fan didn’t help much, and I couldn’t imagine having to work long hours in there. It was cooler sitting outside on a hot July day than it was inside the store.**

UPDATE ON SHIPPING: I ended up forgoing the dry ice and just taking the frozen goodies to UPS. They package it for you, yay! It not only got to Florida perfectly, even made it on time (a couple days...overnight isn't necessary) as hurricane Ian was passing through. They were thrilled as it's her favorite vegan goodie place and misses it so. END OF UPDATE. Purchased a couple of things to send to my daughter in law (she made a post asking her PA family to send a care package lol) The manager was a great help with choices and thoughts on how to send them. Her employee I also talked to was very nice. The manager told me you can freeze their items, excellent for shipping. (These cute lil gems are heading to Florida) Some dry ice and frozen goodies should make it... I'll call and let them know how everything turned out. Very nice shop, will definitely be back.
