I'm not one to complain, but this experience tonight really pissed me off. I've been here multiple times, and every experience has been decent until today. My boyfriend and I come to play pool and have a few beers. Today, we played pool (our first game of the night). After we got some beers and were halfway through our game, some blonde worker, not sure of her name, came up to us and didn’t say a word, took the pool stick out of my boyfriend's hands, gave us a dollar, and cleared the pool table of the balls. She did the same thing to the boys next to us playing. She did all this without saying ANYTHING to us. She took the pool sticks and put them in the closet by the door, so I followed her to ask what was up because we were all confused by what had just happened. I called out and said, “Mam, excuse me,” to get her attention. And I said it loud enough, and she heard me but kept speed walking away. If you are thinking, “Well, maybe it was busy and loud in there,” no, it was dead tonight. It’s 8:30 on a Thursday. So I followed her to where she was sitting to ask her again what was up. Plus, I thought it was not nice how she handled it. I went up to her and said, “Excuse me, what just happened? I’m confused.” then she said something about the balls and how there were no balls. It was confusing what she said, and it also didn’t make sense, considering we had all the balls. I told her okay, but that was super rude how you handled that. She said sorry, but she definitely was on a power trip...
Read moreWe do this thing where we choose a place to eat at random from MAPS when we're hungry while traveling. This was our pick tonight passing through from Reed City back to Grand Rapids.
Now as a bar, it may have been amazing. But I'm reviewing based on the "restaurant" part as that's what brought us.
First of all it didn't feel welcoming in the slightest. Not a single smile, wave, or greeting from any staff whatsoever.
The disposable plastic cups were tiny and tacky let alone terrible for the environment. The coke was watered down. The bartender poured it as if he were serving alcohol and had the tiny cup slammed full of ice. The Mac and cheese bites were ok as were the Asian ginger wings my boyfriend had. I initially ordered a chicken sandwich but I guess with the music and chatter at the bar the bartender who took our order didn't hear. No big deal. I ended up ordering the maple bacon wings a bit later once he came back to check on us . But they were burned.
And because the bartender was our waiter, there were long wait times between him checking in on us, because of the whole 4 people that were at the bar.
The bathrooms were atrocious. They were an experience for sure.
For what it's worth, the atmosphere seemed fun. Great music. Pool table. Good vibes. But the food was not at all memorable. I get it. It's a local college dive bar spot and probably a great hit with the locals. But if you're just passing...
Read moreI went back to Ferris last weekend for the first time since I graduated last year and thought it would be cool to go back to shoots. All of my friends got in, but since i have an IL license since I am FROM IL, the bouncers asked if they could scan my ID. I was like yeah sure. After about 5 mins of waiting, the bouncer came back and said, “You have two options: you can leave or I can call the cops.” I said “Okay, call the cops because I am 23 years old and from Illinois.” He proceeded to tell another worker to call dispatch, and I had to wait at least 15 minutes for the cops to come. After the fact that the cops deemed my ID real, the bouncers did not even have the audacity to apologize for assuming my ID was fake. Point blank, don’t go here if you are from out of state because they will question you and not apologize for...
