PRO-TIP: The minimum charge for a credit card must be $5, so keep that in mind. I was forced to buy 3 extra things before I could use my CC, because I didnāt have any cash on me.
Got there in the last hour before closure at noon on a Monday. Came in and was met with a friendly lady. It was my first ever visit so I had read the reviews and noticed everyone raving about the blueberry donuts.
I first asked for burritos since I read so many good things online about this place and their burritos. But they were all out! Astonishing. I didnāt really see a veggie option anyways (bean and cheese doesnāt count). The place does open at 4.20 AM, so people must have beaten me to their supplies. I got two blueberry donuts and they were absolutely good! Very different taste and pleasant. I then tried one chocolate donut - it was appalling and an absolute waste of money and food. Iāve tasted Krispy Kreme doughnuts my whole life, so I was comparing these donuts to theirs and the blueberry ones were good in their own way but these were just not satisfactory from any angle. Stay away from these. I threw away all of the chocolate donuts because they were hard and not flavorable at all. I also tried a maple glazed old-fashioned doughnut and loved this - I donāt think you can go wrong with old fashioned donuts unless you already donāt like the rough, cracked texture of these specific kinds of cake doughnuts. I did like these.
I did see red velvet donuts š but I didnāt purchase them, so maybe next timeā¦
I also tried the drive-through option because it intrigued me, as to how such a small shop can hold a drive-through structure along with a walk-in shop. There was only one person attending to both, so they are definitely understaffed at that time. Beware: it is a definitely a very narrow drive-thru lane, which surprised me as a Texan. I was holding my breath the entire time going through, panicking about potential scrapes but I managed to go through. It was okay.
All in all, bring cash only or purchase more than $5 of stuff if you plan to use credit/debit card. Definitely try the blueberry doughnuts as the reviews are very positive about them. The price is also very affordable. This wasnāt a jaw-dropping donut shop but it was better than the other Jack and Jill donuts Iāve tried here in Texas. The other alternative is driving 2 hours over to the Krispy Kreme...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went by to grab one or two items. Everything looked so good I came out with over a dozen different things. Way to much delicious looking variety. The spinach and cheese tart was the best thing ever. And the little sausage in a blanket are cool and delicious. And as always a sausage egg and cheese croissant. Writing this I can't wait to go back tomorrow for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis little shop has been here forever it seems and the ladies are always so kind and sweet. Their fritters are to die for? The blueberry ones are my favorite, their burritos sell out really fast in the mornings for a reason! So good and homemade. They'll beat it all up for you if you want and it's just a great little quick breakfast grab on a busy morning. The...
