41st Street Pub & Aircraft Sales — Restaurant in Birmingham

I was really excited to check this place out because the proprietor owns multiple spots in Birmingham. Sweet location in an up and coming area, interesting decor and decent ambiance. The place had just opened moments before we arrived and we were the only ones there besides 2 members of the staff. We ordered our drinks, sitting at the bar, and after we were served were left on our own. Normally, this would be fine, but we were visiting Birmingham and trying to get a feel for the local point of view. We tried engaging the bartender, but kept getting short answers to our questions. The 2nd employee disappeared altogether. Our bartender finally opened up towards the end and pointed us to a few things that might interest us, but we felt like we forced the issue and that made us uncomfortable. Guess I'm just used to a more gregarious personality type as a bartender. Don't get me wrong, really nice guy maybe a little more reserved until you get to know him? Might visit again, but there is so much to do in Birmingham chances are slim because it...

Pretty good drinks and relaxed atmosphere with several shuffleboards and other games throughout. However, as other reviewers have mentioned; the older male bartender with a beard is extremely unhappy working there. It was difficult for him to even communicate with me, a patron. This was a Thursday afternoon with a dead bar so I’m unsure why he was in such a poor mood. I sincerely hope he doesn’t act this way every day or this place will lose so many customers each time he works. I’ll give it another chance but hopefully when I go a second time the bartender won’t be there.

And if the bartender ever reads this… please for your own mental health, get a new job my dude. You deserve to be happy and this is obviously not the place...

Visited your bar for the first time since the pandemic started. The older white male bartender with glasses and a shaved head that was working the evening of 8/20 is 100% the reason why I won’t return. He was extremely rude, snippy, and short. Funny thing is the bar was pretty dead, so I’m not sure why he was acting like this was a slammed evening from 2013. I understand it’s difficult to hire great help these days, but do yourself a favor and axe that jerk. He will do nothing but hurt your business. A day later, I’m still shocked he’s employed by you all. My friends and I won’t be returning, we will go literally anywhere else, you can thank that bartender for losing you like...
