Allow me to preface this by saying I don't leave negative reviews. I don't even go out of my way to consider even wasting my time. That being said, I will also point out that my partners and I are federal employees for context; we travel to various states repairing federal buildings on an emergency basis in a 3500 Chevrolet with a 14 foot enclosed trailer in tow at all times. Unfortunately, we had an emergency call that landed us in downtown B'ham. The only place to get the needed materials was at the business next door to Punch Love Coffee, White Cap, who only has a small alley that was far too narrow for our truck and trailer to travel down safely, so the White Cap employee said our parking was allowed. We took a spot closest to the White Cap building about 70 feet away from Punch Love Coffee, backing in a parking spot, and being mindful not to block anyone in as the forklift driver gathered our things. We knew we were protruding from the spot, but we really couldn't help it, plus, there was still ample parking in the lot. I was contemplating on grabbing a coffee while we waited before the bald barista with glasses barged out of the door rudely asking if we were there to pick up an order. My partner replied no that we were waiting on White Cap to load and we wouldn't be there long. The barista demanded we leave. I explained "We really don't have a choice with a large trailer like this". He replied, "That's not my problem! This is private property (we saw no sign). I'll just call the police". In a heated state, I said "Okay, because it looks like you're oh so very busy" as I waved my hand slowly, pointing out the obvious, a mostly vacant parking lot. I quickly recanted any thoughts of a coffee based off his purely Karen-like attitude and won't be a potential customer. Ever. We're just people out doing our jobs to the best of our ability. He had no reason to be ugly. We weren't blocking parking and were there for a total of 8 minutes. I don't care how many cute hearts you can draw in your fancy coffee. Politeness and tact is a universal language he should learn. We've been greeted by Waffle House employees with better coffee and attitudes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWelcome to Punch Love, the coffee shop that has got it all, from caffeine-packed drinks to tantalizing tacos and pastries! Owned by the ever-talkative Tim, Punch Love is the perfect place to go if you want to hear every little detail about Tim's life. Just be prepared to listen for a while.
But let's talk about the real star of the show: the coffee. At Punch Love, you can get your caffeine fix in a variety of forms, from hot cortados to refreshing iced coffee. And if you're feeling adventurous, why not try Tim's signature drink, the Live Laugh Love? Iām not quite sure what's in it, but it's definitely caffeinated.
But Punch Love isn't just about coffee. Oh no. They've got a whole range of delicious treats, including Last Call pastries, and Lady Bird Tacos, named after a bird that Iām pretty sure doesn't actually exist.
And if you're looking for something to take home with you, be sure to check out the Everyday Oil. I have no idea what it does, but it's probably pretty everyday. But the real highlight of Punch Love? The cleanliness. This place is spotless, from the house plants adorning every available surface to the bathroom that is so clean you could eat off the floor. But please don't do that. Iām pretty sure it's still a bathroom.
So if you're looking for great coffee, delicious food, and a never-ending stream of conversation from Tim, Punch Love is the place for you. Just don't forget to bring your own earplugs.
