Insane portion for the price. Kids ordered a single scoop waffle cone ($8.50 for two). The ice cream scoop was about the size of a golf ball - not coming back. Update: So I am responding to the business response that they stand by their price per portion. I want to say a few things I should have said initially: 1. The flavor was really good to ME. My kids were not particularly excited about it. Full disclosure: I have that one picky kid and that one ‘likes most anything’ kid. 2. The waffle cone was delicious. I was traveling through town with family, looking for a place to get kids a treat. This place advertised (on Google Maps) as “kid friendly.” So, the more I considered why I was disappointed, I realized this: 1. This place IS NOT kid friendly. The variety of flavors are very bold and unique, with limited choices on toppings and basically an area designed for socializing adults to stand, visit, and eat (which 90% of the 10-15 customers were doing). The atmosphere is very modern/cold (concrete and metal) not warm or a place small kids would want to hang out with Mom and Dad. So, here are my recommendations for the business, since they obviously read these reviews (which is good): 1. Make it clear this is more of a ‘high-end’ adult social experience, not a family ’go to’ spot. 2. Put a scaled picture somewhere to clearly show the customer what to expect on portion size with an emphasis on the extreme quality over quantity. 3. Make a smaller waffle cone for smaller portions to visually balance the serving. 4. Place large, bold pictures of the ice creams being ‘hand made’ all over the interior so as the customer is enjoying your product, they understand all the work that went into it. I’m visualizing photos done in real artistic finishes to mimic paintings with colorful frames to spruce up the place, at eye level around the plain white/gray walls. Now I’m sure the first response is going to be something like ‘but kids come in here all the time...’. This might be true, but how many COME BACK? The web search I used may be partially at fault for misleading me, but the business owner needs to know what is out there regarding search results and customer expectations to avoid pitfalls. ...to wrap up, I’m unwavering from my 2-star rating as it stands. The portion size does not match your business name “Big Spoon!” Cheers.

Very mixed coming out of this. The ice cream was by far the best I’ve ever had but goodness are the prices rough. I understand the pricing being a small local place with small batch ice creams but $11 for a milkshake just for it to be that small was a difficult pill to swallow, quality aside. I tried the breakup cookie milkshake and had it not Been for the price I would have turned around and got another. My partner had the June Coffee milkshake with caramel, it was hands down the best coffee flavor ice cream I’ve had in my whole life. The inside environment was incredible sterile and felt like a hospital, this is all personal preference going forward but I cared in no way for the decoration, or lack thereof. I just didn’t feel like the sterile all white minimalist design suited an ice cream spot, especially one of this caliber. All in all I would and will go back I just hope in the course of finding their legs they can come down on the prices just a bit and maybe liven up the decor. I have high hopes and nothing but love for this place and their vision and I hope I can increase my rating in the future!!

I will say the staff was great! Icecream is pretty much my top favorite food group sooo I feel like I am in my lane here. I got the half flight which is three small scoops. I chose coffee and cookies, oatmeal crème pie, and peanut butter cup. The peanut butter cups were huge pieces that were hard to enjoy. I would have preferred that they were cut or smashed into smaller pieces so the entire experience had the cups in each bite. It was more like vanilla Icecream with massive Squares of Pb cups thrown in. The cookie and coffee was ok. I’m not sure what kind of cookies were mixed in but they had a sticky/caramel type of texture. The oatmeal cream pie was probably my favorite but I feel like it was missing something. My husband got the big scoop sundae and was disappointed that the brownie was “ hard as a rock.” He thought that it was going to break his spoon every time he took a bite. I think it would be helpful to warm the brownie first. Also the big scoop sundae is about $15 bucks I think. 15 dollars should get ya a fresh brownie! There were some pre made icecream sandwiches that looked great!

Came in to a very long line (uncharacteristically long) and as always, there is the sign that says “just need pints or sammies? skip the line”. we were there to order 3 sammies and 2 pints as we were taking the treats to a gathering.

The attendant behind the counter informed us that she would have to make one of the pints as they did not have it pre-made and would have to bring it to us, which is totally fine. We paid and took a seat inside the room. She then proceeded to serve the entirety of the line that was there, including 6 parties who came in after us.

A member of my party actually got into the line to re-order because the wait did not line up with the expectation we were given. We finally asked how much longer and we’re told “i’m so sorry, i forgot!”

I recognize that the store was very busy, but if you post signage you do not follow it doesn’t serve the experience very well.

UPDATE

After writing and posting the review, while waiting, the associate did fill our order – she included an extra pint and an extra Sammie because of our wait and her mistake. Thanks for owning a mistake, and going a step above to make it right. as always, everything...
