Making this review at my mom's request. We both went for the first time 5/24/25. Mom went in. A few people inside. Mom stated that a couple customers said their orders were wrong. One particular instance, a gentleman came back and said his was infact wrong, they checked, & turns out he had been given another customers order. Mom said the restaurant worker then proceeded to give the customer the order the gentleman just had.... nope. So when it was mom's turn to order, she didn't necessarily say the individual was rude so much as really dry & not particularly inviting. Also their portion size for side items leaves [little] to be desired. Theirs comes it portion cups rather than a plate. I get the cost of things are pricey. But I'd say at least offer sizing options. Small /medium . They have gallon sizes i believe. I wonder also went they chose not to continue with drive-thru. I will say it was oddly placed with previous restaurant. And for the moment anyway, they seem to offer only one dessert. They've only been open maybe a month.. so time will tell. But not a good first for now. My Mac was decent. Potato salad, too much mustard (for me) & coleslaw was tasty, but too watery. Little on the sweet side. Seems like I tasted sweet relish, which is...
Read moreI’m glad I ignored the negative reviews. I really enjoyed my meal. The staff was very friendly and I got my food pretty quick.
The ribs were great, especially the sauce. It’s vinegar based, so heads up if you only like tomato based sauces, but I love vinegar based and thought it was really great.
Wings were delicious as well. Tomato based sauce lovers should love these. They were cooked well, nice and crispy but still juicy.
Okra was great. What you’d expect from southern fried okra. Potato salad wasn’t my preference. Too smooth for me, but good flavor.
I’ll definitely be back! Glad they came to Birmingham, and I definitely recommend trying yourself. I think Archibald’s is a good addition to the...
Read moreFirst timer here at Archibalds. The gentleman working the front was nice and we talked a bit about the restaurant. I ordered for take out the BBQ pork plate . It came w two sides , I got the baked beans and fried okra . Leme tell you, this did not disappoint! The BBQ sauce is a vinegar base sorta like Dreamland but a little different I don't always favorite that kind of sauce but something about it was sooo good, it has the perfect heat to it which you don't always find. The baked beans had a rich tomato base ,brown sugar with a hint of chili powder. I couldn't keep my hands out of the fried okra on the drive home . All very good and also had two pieces of white bread . I wanna come back and try...
