I wish every business owner created as much of a warm and inviting space like Maggie has at Attard. My friend and I were visiting a school in the area and decided to stop at a local French bakery (ahem, Attard), and we were greeted with the warmest welcome from the moment we opened the door. Maggie introduced herself and helped our indecisive-selves choose what tea to sip on. She enlightened us of all the different kinds she had, explained that she sourced them directly from Paris (which she’s from France so she knows where them good goods are from if you catch my drift).
She served the tea to us in a beautiful presentation and the flavor felt like a warm hug in a tea cup. Truly floral, not artificial, perfect temperature, and even a sand timer for the right amount of steep.
We were delighted to try some of her baked goods which she bakes all by herself (which I was absolutely floored when I found that out because the lemon tart was Michelin-star quality.) I’m talking a perfectly-baked tart. The custard was not too sweet, nor too sour. The crust look like it had been 3D printed — it was that perfect. Buttery, flaky, and crunchy in all the right ways.
I’m truly not impressed often when it comes to baked goods. It’s hard to find someone who knows what they’re doing and takes the time and attention to create a quality good, by using quality ingredients and having a keen attention to detail. You could definitely taste that it was seasoned with love.
The wildest part about it is that Maggie said she was not professionally trained!
Wowwwww. 5 stars. 5 stars. 5 stars.
To top it off, she even saw we broke out our laptops to work and offered my friend a laptop stand as her tables sit a little lower. I’m serious, her self-awareness is on another level.
This isn’t just a coffee shop. This is a place to gather and have great conversation. To make lifelong relationships and…let’s be honest….mostly come just to hang...
Read moreI recently discovered Attard Lumiere by accident and was delighted to visit such friendly and cozy place for a warm drink. This cute French cafe is tucked away on a peaceful street behind Whistlestop and Robot Garage. I brought my friends for coffee and we had a lovely time chatting with the owner who is super kind and inviting. The drinks are really good quality and I appreciate that water is available with your drink. The counter is filled with cakes baked by the owner, the orange cake and the apple tarte Tatin looked amazing. My friends and I had a great time and look forward to visiting again. I’ve been recommending everyone to visit for the good coffee...
Read moreGreat cozy atmosphere for a morning or weekend coffee…best little nook I’ve experienced anywhere near here. The owner from Lyon France (Maggie?) made the visit special putting a personal classy touch on everything turning a latte and cappuccino order into a 5 star experience. It was like we were visiting her home with the cute decor and home baked pastries, not a coffee shop. Almost hesitant to tell others about the place because I don’t want it to become overcrowded like most good coffee shops in the area lol…but she deserves...
