Update: on coming back and placing an order to go, I had an unfortunate less than stellar experience. I guess I have a hard time understanding why I have to pay extra for things that had always been included with my meals when I dine in. I was charged $4 for the tortilla bowl that the guacamole usually comes in when you dine in. This was unfortunate and just felt inconsistent with the fantastic service I have received while dining in. I do not blame the individual who rang me up (she was very sweet) as she did ask her superior if she could get that for me and that was what she was told to do. So when I knock off points for service that is because of the decisions of her supervisor, not her. In general it felt like I was inconveniencing them when I was asking for simple things. Due to me not receiving everything I wanted because they couldn’t not give me the things that usually come free with my meals when I dine in, I will also be changing my review from 5 to a 3 star.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aldana’s Bar & Grill, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment my party and I walked in, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming smiles of Kirsten and Rudina, the delightful hostesses who set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
As we settled into our seats, we were promptly attended to by Michael, our server for the evening. Let me tell you, Michael went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Not only was he attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, but he also exuded a genuine warmth and enthusiasm that made us feel like VIP guests.
In addition to providing impeccable service, Michael took the time to engage with us, sharing his personal recommendations and insights into the menu selections.
And let’s not forget about Tony, another standout member of the Aldana’s team. Tony took a moment out of his busy schedule to greet us and strike up a conversation, further showcasing the genuine warmth and kindness that permeates throughout Aldana’s Bar & Grill. Tony’s recommendations for local tourist attractions were invaluable and greatly enhanced our visit.
As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. From the mouthwatering appetizers to the delectable main courses, each dish was expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Whether you’re craving classic comfort food or gourmet delights, Aldana’s menu offers something for every palate.
Overall, my visit to Aldana’s Bar & Grill was a truly memorable one, thanks in large part to the exceptional service and hospitality provided by Michael, Kirsten, Rudina, and Tony. If you’re looking for a dining experience that exceeds expectations in every way, I highly recommend paying a visit to Aldana’s. You won’t be...
Read moreI wanted to try it for a few years here but didn’t cause I thought it was “authentic Mexican” and the ones that I have tried before I didn’t like at all. BUT THIS WAS AMAZING!!! VERY VERY GOOD! I had a dish I don’t know the name but it had a skirt steak that was the best I ever had marinated for sure, and very tender which I never had anywhere else, I mean tender and not chewy. It tasted really good, with a sauce on it, and it had a j fried jalapeño, and a taco Loco, which seemed to be some kind of beef dumpling fried, and my husband loved it when he tried mine, and I did too! (The waitress told us you can buy them as a dish) and he said next time, he was getting that next time we come! The next time we went a about a week ago I thought I was ordering the same thing but I pointed to something different and didn’t realize ! I was so happy cause when it arrived it was a smoking black deep pit and it had marinated grilled chicken, skirt steak, grill jalapeño, chorizo sausage, grilled cactus!, some kind of cheese maybe cojo and bean and rice on the side. It was fantastic! I also didn’t realize it was for 2 people! But it was so good I was happy to have left overs! I also had a margarita classic on the rocks and it was Beautiful tasted good, the way a margarita should taste. Oh, I alsmost forgot the sala! They have three, definitely taste homemade, and very very good! One mild, one hot, and a green one that I don’t know what it is, but was the best one I thought anyway! I would go there for that alone! The chips were good, corn, and not thin. The atmosphere is really really Cute!! The chairs are all painted with Mexican scenery and there is HUGE dramatic modern flowing artist made chandeliers that are really unique. There is a mural behind the bar that I thought was a Diego Rivera like at the Detroit art museum but upon further study it wasn’t but was done in that style, and was pretty cool! My waitress both times was very good and the 2nd time was impressively kind, super sweet and helpful. She said she had the the smoking dish in the black pit rock dish I had, ( I don’t know the name of it) in Mexico and was surprised they made it there! My husband ordered tacos the first time and the Nachos the 2nd time. He’s not as adventurous as me. He thought they were good. Idk I was too happy with mine to try his! So I was really Suprised and Happy I finally came here ! This is now my new favorite Mexican restaurant and I’m only sorry I hadn’t...
Read moreNever tried it, definitely never will after this. Tried to make a reservation online for my boyfriend's birthday. OpenTables website that Aldana's uses, said that for a party my size (10) I needed to call the restaurant. (Picture 1)
Called them, and the employee was so annoyed from the jump. She kept saying they don’t do reservations. There are 6 clickable options on their website (Picture 2)... one of them being the reservation link to the reservation site. Apparently they have new owners who don't want to do reservations. They just haven't taken it off the website. Okay, that's fine. I have a restaurant and we don't do reservations either... but I made sure there was no way for anyone to think otherwise. That's just professional business ownership responsibilities. It is to avoid issues just like this.
I asked if there was a manager that I could speak to about tonight still working out for us in some way, or if there was any formal hoops I needed to jump through to secure dinner there. The manager came on the phone, clearly annoyed. Being a General Manager, I understand what type of customer he ASSUMED he was going to be dealing with on the phone. His attitude reflected that for sure. I was chill, polite, and even respectful. The issue truly began when he continued with disregarding what I was saying. Even though they don't take reservations, it doesn't say that anywhere on the website OR on the reservation website. It just says to "call to reserve". He then hung up on me.
I am a 24 year old who owns/runs a restaurant. I'm not the type to "speak to the manager" or leave a "scathing" review over a cold fry or stink attitude from an employee, but this was just horrible coming from a manager representing the business.
Business owner to business owner- if I found out that ANY of my crew (especially management) treated/drove away potential customers like this, my blood would be BOILING lol. Everyone knows you try your best to make things right. Not saying give me a reservation, but at least don't...
