Let start by saying that every since my husband introduced me to Giuseppe's 10 years ago I have been in love with their food. In fact, this review has nothing to do with the food or the cleanliness of the restaurant. I visited there last night and I had a new waitress who rung my food up for $0.05 instead of $46. She left the ticket on the table and walked away and I could have signed the ticket and got up and walked out but I brought it to her attention because I didn't want her drawer to be short at the end of the night. I went back to the table to sign the receipt and get cash out of my wallet to leave a tip instead of putting it on my credit card receipt just because she had already messed up and I didn't want any more problems. The fact that she rung the food up incorrectly was not a problem either because I've been new somewhere before and I've had to learn how to use different registers and machines...stuff happens. What I did not like though is the fact that before I had a chance to leave the tip on the table, one of the other waitresses came up and loudly asked me was there a reason why I was not leaving the waitress a tip... in front of everyone. First of all it is at my discretion whether or not I leave the young lady a tip and no one in there should have anything to say about it if I don't... but as much as I come through there and order lunch on my lunch break and leave a $10 or more tip for them to just bring a seven or eight dollar salad to my car (chef salad, light onion, add olives, ranch AND vinaigrette with a sweet tea, no ice).... that was very offensive and very rude of her. I also tried to make a catering order for my company for my employees but they wanted to charge me an extra $1,000 just to bring it to me and put it in individual containers. I could have gone to Sam's and gotten them enough carry-out containers to feed my employees for about $20. It cost less than $100 to rent a van from Enterprise for a day... which they didn't have access to I'm guessing because there are small local business. I know they can probably do without my little $15 a week that I normally spend there and get by, but last night was the last straw for me and I don't think I'll be back even though they are down the street from my home & have some of the best local food in Birmingham.... it's the getting over & misplaced...

Pretty much what you would expect. The breadsticks were decent, nothing to write home about and the salsa-style sauce was a bit bland. Altogether fine, but not a wowing starter.

Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo – Rating: 9/10 I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and it was hands-down one of the best I have had in a long time. White sauce pasta is so easy to mess up, but Giuseppe’s absolutely nailed it. The sauce was perfectly balanced, not too thin or overly thick with generous chunks of chicken. The extra layer of cheese on top was a brilliant touch, and it arrived piping hot. You can add mushrooms for an extra $1.99, but honestly? I didn’t even miss them. Highly recommend.
Chicken and Prosciutto Penne (asked for spaghetti instead of penne) – Rating: 7.5/10 My sister ordered this one and enjoyed it, though she preferred my Alfredo (I did too). The sauce on this dish was thinner, and though it lacked the punchy flavour of the Alfredo, the prosciutto and other elements on the plate were still very enjoyable. Still a solid dish, just not quite as rich or satisfying as the Alfredo.
🍕 16” Meat Special Pizza – Rating: 7/10
A generous portion for sure, and meat-lovers will be satisfied. Hands down, the pasta dishes are the real stars here. If you are a pizza lover, it’s worth trying, but I would come back for the pasta any day.
I am visiting Alabama from the UK, and Giuseppe’s Café came highly recommended by several Uber drivers and locals. I definitely see the appeal😮💨🤤. It’s a cosy, down-to-earth spot serving up hearty Italian-American comfort food, and I can see why it’s a...

My mom felt like it was a spaghetti night for her. After remembering reading favorable reviews of this place, I suggested she order something from here. I had been wanting to try a dish from here as well, so it seemed like as good a time as any to stop here after work. I ordered the 10 inch meat pizza; my mom wanted the spaghetti and meatballs.
Obviously, I didn't do good with measurements in school because I didn't realize how small a 10 inch pizza was. It was perfect for one person, sure, but for $14, it was the size of a slice. However, after the first bite, I realized I paid for an authentic pizza with tasty sauce and real toppings and gooey cheese. It wasn't greasy at all but well cooked and, well, it was some of the best pizza I've had in awhile.
My mom, who is a very picky eater these days, says that she loved her spaghetti. That speaks volumes for this restaurant. She raved about how it was enough food for two people and how many meatballs they put on her plate. Way to win my heart Guiseppe's!
I can't wait to return here and try one of the pasta dishes. Next time I would like to eat in instead of taking my order to go. Just to get the feel...
