Hill Student Center — Local services in Birmingham

I've been a UAB student for about three years and the Hill Center has been open for about two of them.

It's a pretty good student center but some things just don't make sense. The trash can holes on the first floor are weirdly small and don't fit the boxes from 2 of the three restaurants without cramming them in.

Speaking of restaurants, avoid these. The Full Moon (over rated as a brand as a whole in my opinion) is pretty bad. UAB ran out the Saws food truck (the best BBQ in Birmingham by the way) in order to boost this place. The Mein Bowl is the worst fake Chinese food I've ever had. It's run by Sodexo so it shouldn't surprise anyone. The Panera is decent but nothing to write home about. The Starbucks serves Starbucks coffee, take that...

A place to help students! Or it's confused about what it wants to be. Financial services isn't located there yet so not sure what's in the building. I don't understand how they decided to have a Starbucks in there. The other Starbucks is 10 steps next door. Upstair meeting rooms need to be booked TWO weeks in advance? No big deal. Pretty vast with many spots to meet up for projects or just to hang out. The staff are sort of helpful, and there are three food places to pick from. It doesn't seem like much, but I don't really notice the limit on my choices. However, the limited amount of food places is pretty obvious when one of the employees is rude and when you choose not to eat at that place, you're down to two places. This did happen to me, sadly.
