Rocky's Pizza & Italian Foods — Restaurant in Birmingham

Ok.. So this is my second time eating at this location. I recommended this spot to my coworkers for lunch this Friday simply because of my 1st experience. Mind you, I had over 6 people to order from here because they trust my take of food since I often travel for food. We all ordered individually and placed our order online for pickup. One coworker was going to get everyone's order since they all would be ready just minutes apart. Mine was first though so it should have been ready for sure! It was to be ready by 12:55 p.m. Coworker left around 12:45 because the office isn't that far away. She gets there and all orders are ready except mine. The one that ordered first and ordered nothing different than the others. Good thing she checked and realized she was missing an order. She told them and at first, they didn't even want to believe her! Good thing I sent her with a printout of my order and order number. No apology just told her that they gave my food to someone else by mistake. No apology, no nothing! She had to wait another 20 minutes to get my food which means everyone else's food was getting cold. I only ordered a lunch lasagna and a small pizza with 3 toppings on it. Same as the others except they had a salad also. This made her late coming back from lunch and absolutely no care to the person working as she said once she mentioned discount or compensation of some kind for her having to wait much longer than the time stated on receipt, she was ignored. Then to make matters worse... My food was the only food was the only one hot. The food this time was mediocre to say the least and has caused my coworkers to never want them again for any reason. I called to speak with the manager but was told he/she was on another line and that they would call me back. I have not gotten a call back at all and probably won't but that's ok. I will not patronize this business again. The least they could have done was apologized. It's not like the pizzas are cheap so we did spend money during lunch hour. I just had the most unexpected experience at Rocky’s Pizza tonight. My wife and I had been at St. Vincent‘s hospital since 7:00 AM and it was about 6:15 PM when We were discharged following her total hip replacement. I ordered online and stop by to pick it up on our way back home. When I got there, there were some confusion because there were two pick up orders with the same first name and the same last initial so both of the orders were made the same. Mine was not what I ordered. The owner quickly said he could make another one, but I told him my wife was waiting in the car after having her hip replaced and I just couldn’t keep her there that long. I took the incorrectly made pizza home so she could have something to eat before she went to bed. On my way out, the manager got my name and number and said the next time we come back in the meal would be comped. About 30 minutes later, I received a call from the manager who let me know that he Reached out to DoorDash and paid our tab and we would be credited for the cost of the pizza but also our next meal would be free. In the last decade, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve experienced that level of customer service. I’ve been eating Rocky‘s pizza for decades before they close the store down near UAB hospital. God willing, I’ll be eating it for at least the next two decades. Alright, guys. Another pizza place on the menu. Unfortunately, this one's for the boys. And girls as well. Apparently, this Rocky guy must have been a boxer, because I see boxing pictures all over the inside. He sure has some good taste in food that's for damn right.

Food: Got myself a pesto pasta that looked greenish in color, very identical to the one my mom makes at home (Love you 💙) and it is a masterpiece when it comes to Italian foods 🇮🇹. The pizza was the " Rocky Graziano " if I spelt that correctly, it was similar to an All-meat pizza with the sauce being something special for your taste buds.

Service: Top notch service. Young lady took care of us as we sat down at our table. Gave us our drinks and food, and it was the best that I've seen in a while.

Atmosphere: It almost looks like a bar here. It's pretty popular too, especially on the weekends. Perhaps maybe birthday parties or maybe parties in general could be kept here. The size is generally small. There's not a lot of area to work with. The best part is you can sit...
