Gotta try their Steak & Eggs breakfast 😎🙌😀... First and foremost, I would like to extend a special thank you to Shawn W. for recommending The Original Pancake House. It was due to his enthusiastic praise that I found myself venturing into this renowned establishment. Little did I know that I was about to embark on a culinary journey that would leave me utterly delighted, especially with their Steak & Eggs Breakfast. So, Shawn, thank you for the wonderful recommendation! A Rich History of Culinary Excellence Before diving into the details of the scrumptious Steak & Eggs Breakfast, it is only fair to shed light on the rich history of The Original Pancake House. Founded in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, this beloved establishment has been serving delectable breakfast and brunch options to countless patrons for over six decades. Their commitment to quality and excellence is evident from the moment you step foot into the restaurant. The warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon, immediately make you feel at home. The Original Pancake House has managed to preserve its traditional charm over the years, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the Steak & Eggs Breakfast. A Hearty Delight: Steak & Eggs Breakfast If you're looking for a breakfast that will truly satisfy your hunger and tantalize your taste buds, then look no further than The Original Pancake House's Steak & Eggs Breakfast. This dish is a harmonious marriage of juicy steak, perfectly cooked eggs, and an array of mouthwatering sides. As my server placed the plate before me, I was immediately captivated by the appealing presentation. The steak, cooked to perfection, glistened with its juices, and the eggs, cooked to my preference, were adorned with a sprinkling of fresh herbs. Accompanying the main components were golden-brown hash browns, a slice of buttered toast, and a side of vibrant mixed greens. The first bite was a revelation. The steak was tender and succulent, bursting with flavor. Each mouthful was a delightful combination of savory juices and the subtle smokiness from the grill. The eggs, cooked to a flawless consistency, added a creamy and velvety texture to the dish, complementing the steak beautifully. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, providing the perfect balance of textures. The slice of toast, with its warm and buttery goodness, was the ideal accompaniment to mop up any remaining juices. And the mixed greens, fresh and vibrant, added a refreshing touch to the overall ensemble. What impressed me most about the Steak & Eggs Breakfast was the quality of the ingredients. The steak was sourced from top-quality cuts, evident in its tenderness and rich flavor. The eggs were undoubtedly fresh, and the hash browns were cooked to perfection, striking the delicate balance between crispiness and tenderness. Beyond the remarkable taste and quality, The Original Pancake House's attention to detail was also noteworthy. From the friendly and attentive service to the meticulously arranged plate, it was evident that every aspect of the dining experience had been carefully curated to provide utmost satisfaction. In Conclusion In conclusion, I cannot recommend The Original Pancake House's Steak & Eggs Breakfast enough. From the rich history of the restaurant to the exceptional quality of the ingredients, every element of this dining experience was truly memorable. Whether you're a steak aficionado or simply looking for a hearty and satisfying breakfast, this dish is guaranteed to leave you feeling utterly content. The flavors, textures, and overall presentation are a testament to The Original Pancake House's dedication to culinary excellence.

Flapjack Fiasco Turned Feast I'm not sure this is THE ORIGINAL - but if you ever find yourself in Birmingham with a hankering for some serious breakfast fare, waddle your way over to The Original Pancake House, where the pancakes are plenty and the servers are... well, let’s just say they're full of surprises. Take Chris, our server, who could double as a stand-up comedian (or a dietary consultant, depending on how you look at it). He was so determined to steer me away from the Swedish crepes that he even brought out a sample to ensure I understood what I was (not) missing. Now that’s service with a smirk! Our adventure in breakfast land wasn’t without its mix-ups. Imagine our surprise when what we thought were peach pancakes turned out to be peach crepes. Before we could say "flipping flapjacks," Chris had swooped in and corrected the order faster than you can butter a biscuit. Now, let’s talk about the bacon—because it deserves its own love letter. This wasn’t just any bacon. This was the thick-cut, crisped-to-perfection, might-just-order-another-side kind of bacon. As for the French toast? It was a hit with the family. It must have been dipped in angel tears and grilled by the gods themselves because it vanished from the plate faster than Icarus fell from the sky after flying too close to the sun! And thanks to Chris, I didn't order the Swedish crepes - instead I went with peach crepes which were unbelievably good. They might just be my new forbidden fruit. So yes, we’ll definitely be back to The Original Pancake House—where the food is as delightful as the quirks of its staff. And next time, maybe Chris will convince me to skip the menu altogether and just order a cup of coffee. Or not :-)

This review is really for anyone who is not local to the area. They have signs in the window and the owner comments on other reviews saying if you park in the back lot the restaurant will validate your parking. We park in the back and go into the restaurant and they tell us “gotta wait a few minutes, the tablet we use never holds a charge. We’ll bring it to you”. They seat us and 25 mins later that never happens. Ask the waitress what’s the deal with the parking lot and she tells us the lot is very strictly enforced and you will likely get a ticket. Okay??? So now what??? She tells us the tablet only has a 2% charge and to go try another business in the strip and they can validate it for us. Completely ridiculous but ok. My fiancé walked over to the UPS store while our food was being served and UPS says they can’t validate it and the lot is camera monitored and you only have 30 minutes to get the parking validated. My fiancé comes back into the restaurant and they finally let us validate it on their tablet. Hoping we won’t get a ticket as it was right on the 30 minute cusp. The couple next to us said they had to go to the business next store to get theirs validated. None of the staff had any care about it what so ever. The food leaves a lot to be desired. I got an “omelet” (see photo) and it was completely dry and crumbly. I ate maybe a quarter of it. The pancakes are okay. The food was the least of my worries at that point. The service itself was barely adequate we had to ask for silverware, milk, syrup. This is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. I recommend trying quite literally anywhere else and save yourself the headache

Beautiful views out the front windows, especially if you're seated in the lowered section slightly downstairs and to your right when you first walk in.. If you like churches,or perhaps even if you don't, then you might still like this splendid view portrayed in the wonderfully robust architecture of the church visible from the front windows of this restaurant.... The atmosphere is friendly inside as you take your seat, and the warm and welcoming staff reinforce this feeling of friendliness as they bring your menu then serve you your choice of drink. It is cozy but roomier than most of the bigger known breakfast eateries, such as Denny's and wafflehouse, with a charm that sets them apart from all of their larger chain counterparts, as well as a flavor and substance that resonates like homecooking but at the same time is very professional and clearly held to a high standard by management. As if the place didn't already have enough high points to recommend it, on top of all this like the proverbial whipped cream and cherry on top of an ice cream sundae, The Original Pancake House also has fair pricing set at the same rate on some items, and even lower on other items, than their large named competitor's such as wafflehouse and other fast food style eateries of the same ilk. When the food is priced competitively at the same price or lower than their nearby well known competition,With the spaciousness of the restaurant ,its overall sleek and professional look, paired with the charming atmosphere of the establishment and the warmth of the staff, partnered well with the cozy at home cooking made in the best possible way, yet still somehow managing to stay at a more reasonable price than its well known competitors around the corner ; how could anyone who values such qualities visit this place and not fall for all of its appeal . The Original Pancake House has potential to become anyone's permanent breakfast spot ; a permanent local hangout for friends and family in need of a 2nd home to sit , relax, catch up with each other and enjoy one of the best meals you'll ever find from a menu overflowing with endless options. To anyone who hasn't eaten there before : I promise that if you try them , even once , then you'll wonder why you haven't been eating there...

our server ELIZABETH (whom we had not known what her name was until we got our receipt because she failed to introduce herself) was beyond awful. As a server of 16 years and currently serve at one of the best breakfast spots I was horrified. You always repeat the order back to make sure you're writing it down right and the customer agrees its correct. I was going to order strawberry pancakes but Elizabeth said I couldn't order just one I'd have to get 4. My sister ordered first and told her she wanted the strawberry pancakes with her meal. So once the server told me I'd have to have 4 I said "no thanks I'll eat one of my sisters strawberry pancakes". She brought my sister plain pancakes. We told her they were supposed to be strawberry she slapped her waiter book open on the table, read the order and rolled her eyes. We say "we're fine with just recieving the toppings". She then storms off brings back a ram of strawberries. Upon her return she insisted I was the one who ordered them not my sister. I'm mortified at this point because she's literally interrupting our meal to argue with us because she wouldn't accept her simple mistake and move on. She was visibly upset when other tables walked in. You could tell she hated her job. We were sat right by the kitchen, we then can hear her being rude to the cooks and saying what she wasn't about to do to other staff. Like she lacked the concept of teamwork. Did I mention the way she spoke to us. "So yall paying together or what?" She was verbally unprofessional and aggressive at our table and away from it. When my sister and I go out to eat our bill is always under $50 but we still tip $20. Our server definitely was not about to a 20 out of us. $7 on $35 was the best I could get myself to do today.. It was our first time eating here this afternoon and the food was amazing, the cooks were nice, another employee prebussed our table and the host was sweet. We will be back soon but will NEVER want to sit in her section again. P.s best corned beef I've had in a...
