Steel City Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Birmingham

This restaurant is in the IHG Hotel and is a local gem. It is quite surprising and seems to be a local gathering spot. The Birmingham Police come here for dinner. It is severly understaffed. Two very hard working women, JoJo and Jennifer, run the place. They are the bartender, server, cook and order taker. The food is excellent. I had the basket of 10 wings and my spouse had the Quesadilla. Both were perfectly cooked and tasty. I saw a Ribeye come out with mashed potatoes. It looked ample and delicious. After reading the reviews, I was nervous to order from here but since I don't have a car, I had to roll the dice. The bartender was less than thrilled to speak to me or take my order. When I got back to my room with my food, I was pleasantly surprised to taste the well seasoned fries and hot burger. The burger was overcooked but not inedible. The cheese was very good and melted. Terrible service. Sat around for 10 minutes trying to get someone’s attention, during that time I watched the bartender mess up multiple drinks and mumble to Himself.
