I love coming to Slutty Vegan. I used to go to the ones in Atlanta (Ralph David and Edgewood), but I've moved to Alabama about 10 months ago. I loved when I realised that they had a shop here in Birmingham.
Their slutty fries is amazing with the spicy agave mustard or hunny mustard. 9/10
Can't go wrong with the fussy hussy if you're looking for the normal toppings that come on a burger. 8/10
When I get a burger from here, though, I like the one night stand because I like the v. bacon. 9/10
The boujee heaux is their fried cauliflower wings. I've only ever tried the 10pc garlic parm w. fries, but it's amazing. 9/10
I've had the banana pudding before. I don't get it anymore, but it's still delicious. I like my banana pudding a little more solidified, whether it is the breading/crumbles, or actual bananas. This does mimic a legitimate pudding though. 9/10
The hollywood hooker is a good v. philly. I don't normally eat philly cheesesteaks that often, so it's almost a bit much for me due to the amount of stuff in it, but I can still appreciate the flavour profiles, the necessary toppings to make it a philly, and the ability for Slutty Vegan to make a tasty version of the classic sandwich. 9/10
I've only had the project chik one time, and that was when it first came out. At that time, it was a limited time item. I didn't like this sandwich as much, but that's because it wasn't saucy. I think they've added ranch or mayo, but it wasn't enough, so you can simply get extra ranch/mayo. 6.5/10
The sweet potato pie is delicious. 10/10
The hooker fries are delicious. Arguably the best item on the menu for me. If there's any legitimate critique I have of Slutty Vegan, it's that the buns get soggy really quickly from the burger, so it can feel like eating the toppings and patty with a mushy bun sometimes. So, I mostly get the hooker fries when I visit because there is no bun to worry about, and it gives me the same toppings as the philly cheesesteak, except I don't have to worry about being overwhelmed with everything that's inside of the hoagie and trying to keep everything pieced together. The hooker fries IS the hollywood hooker, just with fries instead of a hoagie. It's pretty much loaded fries, but it has to be some of the best loaded fries I've had. 11/10
I do miss the big dawg though. I love bratwurst, so SV's spin on this was amazing. Add this back to the menu and I'd be back probably two to three times a week...
Read moreone of my bad experiences. Slutty Vegan advertises their Hussy Fussy 18.00 with vegan burger and fry. They have a BOGO with this meal for 18.00. I've gotten this same deal quite a bit last year and you buy 1 meal with fries and get another the same. This time I ordered online and it still advertises the same thing and when I pick up my order, it only came with 2 burgers only. So I explained to the store rep and was told she found out this month that they no longer serve fries with their BOGO but it does not state this online. There was another female in the store and she stated she cant give me fries because it's not apart of the BOGO. I let her know if this was properly advertised online, stating they will not serve it with fries, I would not have gotten it. She told me to grab a card off the counter and call the owner with the number listed. Called the owner and explained the same. The owner tells me that online doesn't say it's served with or without fries and that the fries come free with the orders. she stated they did provide the BOGO with fries last year but decided not to do it this year. This is definitely not the way you manipulate and take advantage of your customers. Once I give you a scenario of how the meal itself is 18.00 with fries and a BOGO is a duplicate of that meal, you then say the fries are free so with or without the fries, it's still 18.00. This is finesse at its finest and you should not mislead or manipulate your customers in this way. On top of that, my vegan bugers were soft and pink inside which means they were undercooked. I use to go to this place before and after they closed here but my recent experiences have not been great. I know I'm just one customer and to you all it may not matter but this was my...
Read moreFirst of all, this is a really cool place. I really love the vibe. Lots of cool merch, and then really good food too. The food was great, everyone was working hard to get you your food, and the atmosphere is really good too. Friendly. It is loud, but not in a bad way. The area is actually really nice and there's a nice parking lot right across from the restaurant. Downside: they are kinda slow. This looks like it should be fast food, but it's not. I came right after they opened, and there was maybe 5-6 people in front of me, and it took a good 20 minutes for them to take my order. About 10 to get the order. I don't know if that was bc they just opened up maybe? Wasn't a big deal. Other thing is: this isn't cheap. Most of the burgers and sandwiches are $15 or more. (There's a couple of items that are cheaper, but they aren't what I went for - I went for their burger). Comes with fries, but does not come with a drink. Drinks are all $4.99 and up. So, for a burger, fries, and some sort of fancy lemonade, it was right at $26. Pretty high. I really liked it though. I'll probably go again, and just get the sandwich and fries - because you can't find vegan stuff almost anywhere in Bham, and this is good stuff as long as you're not broke or in...
