First time there this weekend. Plenty of outdoor seating with large tables. Inside is very bright and clean with some merchandise on shelves available to purchase (shirts and stuff). There is a long bar right there in the front inside with a large menu of different craft beer choices. They offer samples for you to try before deciding, which is awesome. Through glass double doors on the left of the bar is a large open warehouse area with a bunch of tables and chairs around the side and a big open area for people to stand. There is a stage to the back with lights and sound for Bands to play on. The rest of the warehouse roped off is where they store all the inventory. It has a very literal industrial feel. The walls are all concrete and metal, which is actually kinda terrible for the acoustics of the music. I feel like better baffling could be installed to help with that. It has an air of being in someone's Huge garage watching bands with their sound bouncing and reverberating off the walls. Very severe and raw environment to see and enjoy bands in. Sorry, but not sorry. Has to be total Hell for soundmen. Because of the Huge space, it really lacks for a personal warm feel. It's kinda like the whole music thing was an afterthought? I mean "Let's just put a low stage in our Huge warehouse where we store our product and let bands play" Much could be done to help that. Sound baffling on the walls and very high ceiling and maybe several very large rugs on the floor to absorb some of that reverb? Very nice staff and great tasting...
Read moreOne may say it's the more "artsy one" in the family of breweries in Birmingham. Just as each brewery stands on it's own, TrimTab offers an original fresh twist on flavor. I say artsy not simply for it's whimsical decor - most of which you are able to purchase, literally off-the-wall, supporting local artist - but even more so regarding the complexity, depth, and blends that are portrayed in their craft's entourage. Their most quixotic project has proven to be their most popular communal libation amongst fan favorites: the Raspberry Berliner Weisse, Paradise Now. This "champaign of beers" seems to have sculpted out a niche amongst the masses nationwide. Conveniently situated just a block from the LakeView district's restaurants, bars, and attractions, this brewery is a "must stop" with plenty to do surrounding it. And currently, it's even home base for Birmingham Pedal Tours, a group bike tour that visits several great watering holes and...
Read moreStopped at this brewery on our way through town. We choose the brewery based on their different hop profiles and interesting beer options. The options did not disappoint. Very unique, but the sours and berliner weisse really shone. Staff was extremely friendly and chill. Indoor and outdoor seating is offered - we happened to be there on a trivia night, and there were a lot of people, so we had to sit outside. I would recommend bringing bug spray as we go pretty ate up by the mosquitos. Lots of to-go options as well and a food truck. Off street parking is in a unpaved, rough, unlevel lot, so take that into consideration if you have low mobility or are on...
