University Club of Virginia Tech — Restaurant in Blacksburg

Cannot say I found value in this. The breakfast buffet was cheap but very average (think hot hotel breakfast). Drinks and lunch/dinner meals were quite pricey for what you got. It was nice to have a place to go to watch away games when they were blacked out on TV, and the staff was always very nice. They throw in a subscription to Golf Magazine regardless of whether or not you golf, and you canNOT cancel it or get them to stop sending it. When you cancel your club membership, you must plan out 30 days because they make you give 30 days notice rather than just letting you cancel, which is quite frustrating. My husband was able to use the facilities a lot for co-working, but just working at a dining table - they do not have specific co-working spaces included. Went here for a graduation dinner. The server was really nice, but she was covering so many tables we rarely saw her. A few items driving the low rating: it took 30 min after our reservation to put out all the items for the salad (only had the bagged lettuce and dressing out until then). And this was only after i asked most of the shrimp cocktail was still frozen and inedible they kept running out of food and took a long to replenish dessert was supposed to be an assortment of cakes and pies- they didn’t not had cheesecakes (not good for people who didn’t like cheesecake) we were seated on uncomfortable plastic white folding chairs. Recently attended a pre-game buffet at the club. The staff was friendly, helpful and very efficient in getting lots of people seated in a short period of time. We added my son and a friend at the last minute and they calmly accommodated them and found an extra table

I would give 5 stars but unfortunately the food selection was a big disappointment. I understand the challenges of serving lots of people in a short period of time but BBQ heated from a mass produced packaged product and frozen meatballs was disappointing.
