Initially, I like this place the first time I tried it. Or maybe I was overly excited because I finally found a place that had pupusa’s near me. I returned a 2nd time and ordered pupusas again and this time they had almost no cheese and were burned. Still I come back. But I try something else Now This whole experience was a mess. (1) ordered a deluxe burrito, Which is only deluxe because they add sour cream and guacamole. However, when I got my burrito, there was no sour cream or guacamole. I let the server know, She looked in my burrito because it spread open. They filled it with so much lettuce the burrito couldn’t close. Anyways she goes to the back and tells the cook. He says they added it. She then tells me well I can bring you some extra guacamole and sour cream and I say well I don’t want extra, I just want What comes with the burrito? She brings the guacamole and sour cream and again says here’s your extra guacamole and sour cream. Whatever lady, I ignore it. (2) The food that we were given was not fresh. Meat has a different texture when it’s been reheated and my chicken was definitely a day old. The rice and beans were also old and you can tell they had been reheated. 4 kids who love rice and wouldn’t touch it due to how hard it was. (3) There was one waitress taking calls, tables, and walk-ins (orders) So she didn’t come and refill any of our drinks and order came cold and took quite a while to come out. (4) This is what really bothered me the most is their menu prices do not match with their system prices. I let them know this, the lady flat out said no she would not honor the price on the menu. I let her know that she lost a customer My bill was $150, I brought my family in here, which means my bill will always be around that price. A few minutes go back and she comes and talks to my sister (who isn’t paying) and tells her the situation and then offers me $1. Why not talk to me? This place is a hole in the wall, which usually has the best food, IMO. After 3 visits, unfortunately I will not return.

Read moreI travel a lot for work. All over the state I have tried numerous street tacos from different places. Well over 25 different restaurants and food trucks. HANDS DOWN THESE WERE TOP 5 BEST! If not top 2!
I always get a few carnitas and a few barbacoa. I feel that those two proteins are the gold standard to see what kind of right hook a place has got. The carnitas was wonderfully shredded and had that slight sear from being heated on a flat top, that I enjoy, a nice change in texture as you conquer that meat. NOT over stewed or over cooked and was perfectly seasoned. No large chunks of un-rendered fat that seem to make its way into many other places carnitas. The barbacoa also perfectly shredded, where it had a firm but approachable bite to it but not annoying and getting stuck in your teeth, so that your wife knows youve just been “working” for a tasty bite rather than that pay check to buy her nice things. Wasn’t tiny and crumbly. Not obnoxiously over seasoned but that type of flavor where you go. “Hell yeah! they didn’t have to bring the entire team for this star to shine!” Kind of flavor profile. Hot sauces are the typical light green and creamy looking red. Nothing spectacular but more than nice.
As far as size I find them modestly perfect on the side of larger. Like how you’d want a street taco to be. And for under $3 dollars it is more than fair.
I appreciate that offering of good honest and simple meat with tortillas for a price that makes sense. Not like those “bougie” white owned places popping up who are trying to make the street taco a viral craze rather than sticking to its roots of being great because it doesn’t ask you to tie its boots for it. Like a certain place north of this joint on 65 who I think is charging $18 for 3 street tacos that want a photo for their taco feed and not a taste.
