It isn't bad, just not great. I found everything to be too sweet and not savory.
The brie cheese plate with charcuterie wasn't bad but nothing stood out and the brie was not warm, soft and oozy, but served room temp. A "bread" is 5 dollars and is half of a tiny, tiny loaf that is not hot when brought to the table and didn't appear freshly baked. No butter is served. The olive oil with parmesan served with the bread lacked flavor. Needed some herbs mixed in. The garlic rolls lack much garlic flavor and seemed to be undercooked, or maybe just a strange raw flour taste. Again, no butter was served nor offered. We all couldn't figure out what was wrong with them, but the rolls were off.
I had the lamb "special". Small portion and very, very overcooked. Gray throughout. Was told it would be medium rare by the server. Blech. Any competent chef should refuse to serve overcooked meat.
The "bourbon" sauce is way, way too sweet. Think "bourbon chicken" at a cheap mall Chinese food place. Strange flex for an Italian restaurant. Would expect more emphasis on fresh herbs, fresh ingredients, less sugary syrup hiding everything. There was also a hot pepper jelly served with the lamb. All sugar flavor, no heat or zing from peppers.
Wife had crab cakes. Pretty good but the sauce provided with them tasted like Japanese Yum Yum sauce with horseradish mixed in. Not very good at all.
Our guests had Seafood Newburgh and thought it was just okay. Nothing made it special
Service and ambience are good. We were told on the phone the dress code is upscale casual but their was a table in shorts and baseball jerseys who didn't even bother to remove their baseball caps. Prices are pretty reasonable. Has a varied interesting menu, but execution of the food is so poor that it doesn't matter.
There are better options for upscale dining dollars. ...

Read moreUnfortunately I was not able to experience the food this restaurant had to offer the reason for this is because as soon as me and my girlfriend entered the energy shifted and all eyes on us but the looks were not pleasant, to help you understand why this happened I believe it was because we definitely looked like we didn’t belong, well to them at least. I am a African American female and my girlfriend is Caucasian ,we waited at the hosted post to be seated the customer started to stare and a couple actually shakes their heads in disbelief moments later hostess came over confirmed it was just the two of us and immediately ask if we would like to eat downstairs cause it much quieter so she says, we were very confused but we followed her downstairs which we had to got back out in the cold air to do so the first waitress we had seemed nervous but ask if we needed water brought that back and never came back after great I guess the other table needed her more I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome I hate to say this was a race thing however it definitely felt like one so we up and left and I think they can care less This restaurant does not do well with a...
