Went there for our first time and probably my last due to cost vs quantity. Started off by paying $5 for the large orange juice, but it's actually quite small even for oj standards and did not taste fresh squeezed (menu indicated) or very good. Then I paid $15 for the chunky monkey belgian waffle...note there is no s at the end of waffle, it was just one and there were no sides included. There wasn't much whipped cream on it, which again, for the price, could've used more. It was a decent waffle, but nowhere near worth the price and one that can be easily made at home (and will be). I paid $4.50 for some hashbrowns. They were also decent, but really should be included with the cost of the waffle. My daughter got an omelette which she did really like, it was a good size, and that did include hashbrowns and pancakes (so a much better deal for the $16.50 paid because it was $1.50 to add a slice of American cheese), but she thought the hashbrowns were too potatoey (diced, not shredded) and she wasn't impressed with the pancakes at a pancake house, giving them a 5/10. She probably would go back there again with friends for that omelette. Staff was nice. Was chilly in there as well. Overall, it was an okay experience, but as I've said, too pricey for how little you get. I hope they consider at least adding hashbrowns and maybe bacon to the waffle breakfast to make it more worth the price. Oh and parking is not great, not horrible. The spots closest will likely be filled so you have to park in the adjacent lot that is shared with the shelter. Not too bad of a walk, but something to note for anyone reading reviews before going to a...
Read moreFirst and last visit to this place. Either the owner has no clue what's going on in this business when they arent there, or they just don't care. I'm not coming back to find out. From the time I opened the door, things didn't seem right. There wasnt a single employee in sight, and another customer was already waiting at the counter to be helped. I asked him if he knew if there was staff present, and he told me he hadnt seen anyone in the few minutes he had been waiting. I walked back to the kitchen to see what was going on, and a worker rushed past me cussing about a catering order and yelled to a customer that she wasn't technically working there, so she couldn't help them. She was overwhelmed with whatever she was trying to do. I leaned into the kitchen to see if there was any one who could take my order, and a lady on the phone looked around the corner and made eye contact with me, and then continued her phone conversation for a few more minutes. If I wasn't REALLY hungry, I would have already been gone, but I was already there and had wasted literally 20 minutes standing in the lobby being ignored, so wanted to give to at least give the food a chance. Long story short (just kidding, it's a long story long) there are too many pancake houses to deal with a business where there is a common culture of inappropriate language, unprofessional mannerisms, and outright neglect of...
Read moreNot a good first impression for a first time customer. Having just moved to the area a few months ago, we have been trying to support the local eateries. This was our first time at this location and probably will be the last. I understand every experience can't be perfect, but this experience was not good at all.
Service was not good. The waitress seemed inexperienced or just plain didn't care to serve customers.
We were asked if we wanted complimentary soup and when we asked what the soup was we were told, out of chicken and dumpling, just has tomato basil left. We decided not to have the soup. Then the table behind us ordered and the waitress told them they had Loaded baked potato, chicken and dumpling and tomato basil. Hmmm....unfortunate.
I ordered the fish tacos. I read the menu and it didn't mention cilantro on it. I do not like cilantro at all. All three tacos were buried in it. We waited so long to get served, I just tried to pick off as much as I could and suffered through the rest. $9.29 for three tacos?? NOT worth it. Wish I would have taken a photo.
The place isn't very clean either. I worked in a restaurant for 12 years and know very much about customer service and a good first impression. This restaurant, unfortunately, fell VERY short. Perhaps they are better known for breakfast, and I should have ordered that instead, but if you don't do lunch well,...
