The tortillas are amazing. They have an amazing bite to them and don't fall apart after they sit for a few minutes like most other commercially made tortillas. The bacon wrapped shrimp tacos are good but lack consistency... they need more seasoning, more sauce, and MORE SHRIMP. The chorizo tacos (off menu) are bomb... hands down the best on the menu. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and authentic. The inside aesthetics could be improved by making the space feel warmer/cozier. Maybe some drop down light fixtures, artwork feature local artists, etc.? It doesn't feel like a traditional sit-down restaurant but also doesn't feel like fast casual. It is stuck in some weird place in between and I believe with the family-oriented community, they would do well to put some more thought into the interior design.
The cost of the tacos is only a problem if you are used to eating taco bell. For real, homemade food, there is no way a business will survive by only charging you $2 per taco. If they do, I wouldn't want to eat it because lord knows what is in it.
I really hope they continue to improve the menu (more flavor... people want something special and consistent) and work on the interior (ambiance is...
Read moreI've been here several time. It was equally as good each time. Our service has always been good, but this doesn't taste like fast food, which means it takes a bit longer to make. The restaurant is nice and clean. The food - really good. I've tried most of the taco and have enjoyed them all. First off, the tortillas are hand made, what a difference from the commercial ones. The shrimp taco I had contained perfectly cooked fairly large shrimp. The sauce was great tasting. The taco had plain lettuce and would of benefited from a crunchy slaw. Still very good. The steak is true skirt steak that was marinated and cook medium rare, just perfect. Chicken has been well seasoned and doesn't taste like boiled chicken. The Al Pastor has a unique and enjoyable flavor which is my son's favorite Al Pastor. Love the home made salsas. All the food enjoys the flavors that fresh ingredients and proper seasoning can bring to the table. Great food and reasonable prices make this a must try if you are in the Homewood, IL area. They are located on Martian St, a one way from north to south between Harwood and Dixie Hwy, in downtown Homewood. 3-11-22. Enjoyed another lunch. Try the Tinha...
Read moreOverall this place was pretty solid the prices are perfect for the amount of food you get. The meats are all cooked very well with great flavor. The only thing I could say is maybe the steak may need a little bit more flavor but compared to other places it’s still better than most. I also tried the corn it’s got a different flavor to it not my particular liking but even still it was not bad at all. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good tacos for sure. I also got the food delivered so I didn’t get it as fresh as it could be and even still I give it high ratings. Also if I could recommend they add a couple different salsas to better compliment the great food they...
