Cafe ML — Restaurant in Bloomfield Township

The service was great, I felt like every host, waiter and staff member greeted me and thanked me on the way out. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the food and experience. The building sits in a lowly strip mall with not much character. The entrance is hidden and I had to ask someone how to get inside the restaurant. They do offer a social hour that is popular, Monday thru Friday from 2-6, it is for bar seating only. Disappointed by the size of the bar, there are only 5 or 6 high tops and then some bar stools, so finding a seat was challenging. The social hour food menu was a joke, only four options and two are soy based, so watch out for allergies. The menu really needs to be reworked with better options and more variety. I ordered the black bean soup which was good, it did have a bit of a kick to it but is very small. I also had the Korean chicken slider, that is singular. This was offensive to even serve. It was a little larger than a silver dollar and only comes with one slider. How embarrassing for them that they will even try to serve this. The chicken was overly crispy and not something I would recommend. The chick meal served with vegetables, peaches and farro was a good choice. Quite possibly the finest, most exquisite dining experience I've ever had in my life. The food was positively scrumdiddlyumptious, to the point where I worried that I may never enjoy other food again. I momentarily considered raiding the dumpster in the hopes of acquiring some more delicious morsels for free. Not that the pricing is any concern, I was blown away by how affordable this food was. Your wallet will thank you, as will your taste buds. (Side note, dumpster was empty, which just goes to show how tidy this establishment is). The service. Oh, the service. I don't remember ever being so cared for at any restaurant or other business in my 42 years on our dear lords last creation. Some establishments have second-guessed, or been confused by my particular order. I don't happen to find it that out of the ordinary, but the stares I often receive from the wait staff suggest otherwise. However, not here. Here I was welcomed with the most open of arms, and my food was brought to me punctually and perfectly, with not a hair out of place. My experience here could only be described as earth-shattering, life-changing, paradigm-shifting. I cannot think of anything I have done or ever will do that will have the same impact on me that ML has. P.S...

It is so refreshing to go to a restaurant that is clean and the food is on point. I went there in July and just last night and we couldn't be happier with the service and the delicious food. I have to say it's been a while since I have been back to the café and I'll never go this long again. I can't rave enough how professional your host Travis was to get us a seat right away and your waitstaff all work together very nicely and keep the place in tiptop shape. I appreciate your bathrooms are clean and the ambiance makes it a welcoming place to dine in. Thank you to the owner for taking care of your restaurant I can't wait to try out Bills and your other extensions. I have been very disappointed on the restaurants in my area in West Bloomfield just not keeping the places up to standards. For being understaffed I wouldn't even have noticed because your busser and servers work very fast and efficiently and I appreciate it that...thank...
