Aki Sushi — Restaurant in Bloomfield

I usually don’t write reviews good or bad for restaurants because it’s situational but I had to for this one!! Only because my experience was unbelievable!!! starting with service being denied and ending with being pretty much kicked out by yelling in front of my 5 year old. I placed an order for pick up I arrived within 5 min. The moment I walked in I said I placed an order for pick up and it’s okay if it’s done that we were eating there. I was with my kid, very hot day and decided to just eat in. The waiter right away said I couldn’t eat there. I was confused and figured I was being misunderstood so I said I will eat here. The place was empty I’m picking up sushi from that location … what is the big deal. Eventually, I let them figure it out after back and forth. I had another lady come up to me to now explaining herself that the owner doesn’t allow for take out containers inside the restaurant ( understandable and could have been explained since the beginning) at this point I’m over it and asked her to stop yelling at me in front of my kid and to just allow us to eat. They unwrapped it while we were in the bathroom washing our hands and that was the end of that. Nobody came to check in, I had to get up to inquire about ordering more food and to pay. I decided I was not going tip because I received no service and they were beyond rude. When they realized I didn’t tip the screaming lady screamed at me and said I didn’t tip her server. I replied calmly that’s right because I received no service and the experience was terrible. She went on to continue rambling on and asked if the kid was mine and tried to address him I guess to make me look bad ? I laughed said please don’t talk to my kid and closed the door. They attempted to commit fraud on my and my wife’s credit cards but didn’t realize we monitor our accounts. They called my wife and tried to yell her into paying for food she didn’t order. Then I noticed later in the day a charge on my card that I did not place and after threatening legal action they refunded it while claiming I ordered food. We don’t plan to ever come here again. They clearly store your credit card numbers and try to charge you random amounts later on hoping you won’t notice. Unscrupulous and unethical. Should be ashamed of themselves. If you eat here, monitor your accounts closely. Better yet, go to Nori sushi. Better quality and have not had any problems with fraudulent charges.

Food is good, service ok. Not worth...

I have to say, this was a very nice find that has very good food indeed. We shared a sashimi lunch, my wife had a steak teriyaki dish, and I had miso soup, California roll and yellowtail roll. We both had tea. All worth recommending trying from their menu. Hers came with a salad that I wasn't too high on, but overall everything was quite good, and the service was excellent - friendly and attentive. I would care to elaborate: the waitress... we never needed to ask for anything, the waitress always magically appeared to keep our tea cups filled, and yet it never felt like she was hovering either, perfectly unobtrusive.
