Good food at a reasonable price!
I believe most of their business is take-out or delivery, but there are five four-person tables for dine-in.
I went for lunch on a Sunday and there was a steady flow of business, mostly for take-out. I ordered online in advance for dine-in... a good choice since they were already cooking my pizza. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. I got a small (10") pizza and it was the perfect size for just me. Add a 20 oz. bottle of soda and it came to $14 and change. Pretty decent price for today's economy.
The one negative is that there were crumbs on my table and a couple others, so I think they should be more diligent in cleaning off the tables, especially with COVID and other viruses still bouncing around.
DELIVERY: I will note that GINO's only charges $1.00 for delivery and is the ONLY restaurant in the Bloomfield area I have found where you can order a meal for one for $15 ($18 including a tip). I've ordered twice in the past couple of months: a 10" pizza once and a burger and fries the second time. ...
Read moreOrdered at 6:39, given a ETA of 45 min. At 7:35 I called to check in as the food had not shown up. The person on the phone gave me an excuse that the weather was too bad for their drive. It was raining and not even hard at the point. They gave me another ETA of 10-15 min. At 8:15, I called again. This time someone picked up and hung up. I called back, same number, and it went through to a fax machine. I called again and it rang and rang. So I called their online ordering Service, and they got in touch with them for me and gave me another ETA of 10-15 min. So at this point I just tell the service I want to cancel the order. I'm over this game. My husband and I leave to go pick up some dinner, and at 8:45 a delivery driver calls to say he's at my house. Then proceeds to give me a bunch of untrue excuses as to why the food was 2 hours late. There is no way in hell I'm paying for it. Terrible customer service. Don't waste time...
Read moreMy first time in the States, visiting family. I originally grew up in Italy and knowing how bad Italian-American food is portrayed in Europe, decided to check for myself.
Picked this place because of the name but should have guessed by the menu it wouldn't be an authentic Italian run place. Pizza dough not brushed down with olive oil, tasted like the same factory rolled rubbish we get in kebab shops in Europe, not a single real Italian pizza on the menu no carciofi, no diavola, no arancini, torino panini had grilled chicken, it usually has prosciutto in actual Torino, I think they just used the name without knowing what it was.
Service was dreadful, got ignored at the counter despite a young lady coming up, checking her phone that was on it, then walking to the back again. No pleasantries/thank you/enjoy your meal etc.
First meal in CT and hopefully there is better to come, this was not...
