Where do I begin with how bad my experience at this diner was ? From the moment me, my husband, kids and my parents step in you could hear a pin drop. I didn’t know this was 1946 and biracial families were non existent. But besides the blatant discrimination, the service was absolute trash. We were a table of six they point us to a table with only four chairs. We waited a full two mins before I had to mention the absence of two chairs. We were literally given two folding chairs. Then we waited two more mins for someone to ask what we wanted to drink. After being asked our drink order which never came until the manager/boss came and asked us for a second time for our drink order which he brought finally. Then we waited another five minutes for my kids drinks to be brought. Three more tables were seated before we were asked for our order. At that point twenty minutes had passed before a waitress finally took our order. Another 25 minutes passed before we finally came. My husband for a green pepper omelette with bacon and home fries. The bacon was not on the plate yet when the check came they tried to charge us. I I asked for two plates with bacon no home fries yet load and behold there were home fries on their plates. Not to mention we were missing utensils and I had to ask three times before we got our utensils. And last but not least the ppl that were seated after us were served before us. The antiquated diner is unprofessional and slow. The staff chooses who to serve and how quickly they’ll serve you and seat you a their tables without making sure it’s fully equipped. Worst experience ever, this is the second time this has happened to me with this place. They have a white lady with pink hair,who should not be working there. I'm going there to get breakfast to go, right away when I get there she has an attitude. I've watched this waitress, she can't handle that little job, the Spanish girl that use to be there, can multi-task, this white lady, is always complaining in front of customers, has a terrible attitude. I place an order, and while she was still writing up my order I decided to change something about my order, and she rolled her eyes at me, like she was a little kid. Who does that?? An uneducated person that's who. And this is the second time with this lady, waiting to place an order to go can be 20 minutes with this woman. I also ask for a side order of bacon, for my neighbor, and they put it in my husband order. I said to her I asked you for side order bacon separate,why did you put it with the other order,her response was, that they do it like that always, to save on bins. The food isn't all that any way,going to stick to State street restaurant. Food is good, and great customer service. I always give great tips when I get good customer service, but this time I felt good that I didn't give her a tip, because she didn't deserve any. Last time even though she acted in the same manner as she acted today I still gave her a good tip. Let’s start by saying that it wasn’t all bad. The service was absolutely perfect and the energy and vibe in there was GREAT overall. Especially between patrons and staff. Local old timers and your everyday regulars, exactly how you’d expect a diner to be.

Let’s get to what we are here for. The food. To start , the food was really mediocre. Something that without effort could’ve been made at home. Scrambled eggs was literally that with a slice of Kraft cheese thrown on right before coming out, half the eggs without cheese. Didn't even look presentable. The toast was effortless, just throw in toaster and buttered up with little to no effort (only top slice was really buttered, 1 out of 4), pancakes had no real flavor even with the added bananas over the top. The best thing was the sausage but then again you can’t really mess that up. Diner coffee is always great so no complaints there.

I was really disappointed since this is our local diner and our first time there. I frequent diners as much as I can and always love trying new places and this one took me aback. It was all great at first but when the food was served it was really disappointing.
