Avenue Steak House: ASH Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bloomfield

Met with my Big Brother for dinner and some drinks, he’s been asking me to come here with him some time now so he’s a regular. Everything was great until the music was set to the max and we couldn’t even hear each other talking. The sound system isn’t the best, not a fault on the venues end however when my brother asked why it got so loud but made point to say he’s not trying to tell anyone how to run their business, the server mentioned it wasn’t a problem to lower the sound however it was the manager and her (the manager’s) friends whom turned it up. Then after the server made mention, it was turned to a decent volume. However one song after that we then heard “The Manager’s” friends yelling “IT’S a FXCKING BAR, and you want to complain about the music being too loud?!” Shortly after that the volume was again turned all the way up, even then the bartender yelled “Hey!!! Too loud.”… The “manager” (Disgruntled looking Caucasian female wearing glasses) ignored her and carries on with her friends, while glaring at my brother & I seemingly trying to make a point, customers being uncomfortable didn’t matter to her. After paying our bill, and getting ready to leave her friends we’re laughing, as she continued to put on her sweatshirt all whole continue to glare now just at me. As a bar Manager myself, that is unacceptable. Whenever I see a NEW FACE I and MY STAFF go way above and beyond to ensure, They’ll return and be a valued and appreciated regular. Unfortunately this evening this “MANAGER” demonstrated & acted out with POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could rate a negative ZERO, I would. I absolutely love this place with all my heart. I worked there for a few years until I relocated to Florida. While I was there, I wasn't treated like a disposable employee but like I was part of a beautiful family. I truly enjoyed my time working there especially since they have the best authentic food. I still crave the garlic shrimp, steak fingers, and the best salad, the A.S.H salad. Oh and the soup!! Put a little hot sauce to taste and toasted bread to dip. Soooo good. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen so I knew everything was super fresh always. I had fun working all the different types of parties, comedy shows, live music,etc. Always something fun and new. I miss it a lot. Definitely a place worth visiting for delicious food fun drinks and entertainment. Trust ME!!!! I cannot wait until I come back to visit. I LOVE A.S.H 4ever ❤👌🙋‍♀️😍 Love from " D.J." The place was not too busy as my party arrived early in the evening. Did not care for the gratuity being added to our order when we only ordered drinks. Two double drinks came out to $27.09 but the total was $33.04 (since 18% gratuity was already added). I paid cash ($40) and received change of $6. I assume taking a $0.04 hit was detrimental to the businesses success, and for that, an additional 4% increase on my part was mandatory. The drinks were simple and for a double very 'easy' to consume. This was my second visit to this business, and I don't need a third to know this is not for me.
