Village Pantry — Local services in Bloomington

My friend and I went into the village pantry on 9/20/24, due to the fact it was the only place open, and we got our items of choice. We go up to the counter where the rude cashier was having a conversation with some random dining hall worker about car transmissions… completely ignoring us for the three straight minutes. He was standing at one register moving to the other without saying one word to us while carrying on his conversation. Then stares at us quietly, when he finally does speak he crudely snaps at us, “that counter obviously said lane closed… I don’t understand why people keep going over there.” Well I have an idea for you! Maybe it’s because you’re standing at the “closed lane” flapping your jaws to the customer before us :)...

Operated by idiots, employees are condescending and impolite. Refused to sell me cigarettes because i didn't let the clerk hold my id, happy to show it to him. I refused to let him hold it because the last time he bent it completely in half, i asked him why and he told me that it was standard procedure to make sure it wasn't fake. Always dirty, bugs all over the coffee and donuts area, always unfriendly. You would be much better off walking 1 minute west to the 10th st market where they have an all around better selection, a kitchen serving food, no bugs, and...

Usually I always get the same lady and she is always so rude ! One time I walked there with a friend who was buying cigarettes and she wanted my ID. Like, I just walked here and now we have to walk back just because I didn't bring my ID. that's ridiculous. I wasn't even buying anything ! That's not a state law in the first place, I would know considering I worked in a gas station convenience store. Another time, I was looking at the cigarettes and she told me I "could always just go somewhere else" Like lady?? You could help instead of...
