My fiancé and I went for valentines day with reservations for our first time as I like little places with neat decor and tight menus with unique items. She ordered the cavetelli and I went with the duck and we both got a crock of French onion and split a cheese plate. We forgot to get some fancy tea and kombucha and i ordered a slice of mixed Berry clafoutis.
We loved the cheese plate, their mustard was our favorite as well as the gouda which tasted so aged like parm. The French onion soup was herbal and had us burning our faces off to drink every drop and enjoy the one crusty side of bread. Our main courses were good, albeit hers was a tad too smokey and I'd have rather her hot greens and she rather my cold salad as the acidity was more to her liking and the choice greens were more to my liking! My only semi complaint was the cranberry perhaps apple sauce was too much for me. The liquid was nice for the carrots, but I simply don't enjoy cranberries. A puree maybe. But nonthless I'd order it again! The carrots were great. Nice and spiced with pepper and ginger. BTW the duck was amazing. I wish they served half ducks. I could wreck the entire thing for an easy $50.
As for desert? No clue. It's for tomorrow. We're still full. Left a little cheese for snacking. All was good. I hate Bleu. She loved it. The goat was like brie and that was bliss.
Totally recommended. I wish I had the guts or legit gut room for the bread plate but I... We... Didn't.
And sorry to the folks for staring into the kitchen all evening. I love watching people prepare food. I beleive I watched a gentleman work prep chefery. Great work!...
Read moreWe had the Blind Pig cater our wedding and cannot recommend them enough. Sarah was so attentive and easy to work with during the planning process, answering our many questions quickly and offering her suggestions and expertise. The food was phenomenal. We have so many people still talking about how it was the best food they’ve had at a wedding. You could tell that everything was fresh and high quality, since they only use locally sourced, in season ingredients. Everything was delicious, but some standouts that we had were the pig roast, bacon wrapped peaches, deviled eggs, gouda Mac and cheese, the sirloin skewers, and the chicken legs with apple chutney (although I could really list our entire menu as standouts). Their staff was also so kind and professional throughout the day. There were some changes to our cocktail hour location and schedule due to weather, but they handled everything seamlessly...
Read moreI ate here with coworkers after a recommendation from one of them about the food quality and service. I would recommend eating here if you like good to great quality food, small restaurant (quaint) atmosphere, and great service. If you are looking for a typical chain reataurant experi3nce, look elsewhere. I had the meatloaf and it was excellent. The pork belly appetizer was great although not for everyone. I also had the tomatoe soup which was very good. Think a mild spaghetti sauce consistency and taste. A little pricey however it is not overpriced. In fact it may be under priced for the quality of food, but for most this would be a $75 dinner for two for meals and one app. If you add desert, coffee etc. It can be a $100 experience. Bring your own wine and they provide glasses. This is another perk in my opinion. Only complaint is they take cash or check only (no...
