Southern Crave — Restaurant in Blythewood

I ordered online about a month ago. I ordered something that wasn’t available. I didn’t get a call to have a replacement. I left my money at home. My order was halfway ready due to one of my plates not being available. The cashier allowed me to pick whatever. I picked something 10 dollars over. First I didn’t like the owner attitude with the cashier or her husband (the wife). And I didn’t like what she said about the future owners next door. Saying she hope the lady don’t get the nail salon bc she wants it to have a diner. When she could use the driveway area for that and congratulate the lady for becoming a business owner. Back to review. They both (cashier and husband) allowed me to have the replacement order with no problem. She was yelling and ranting about the difference. However I could have went back up there to pay the difference but get in the car and realize my side order which is 5 dollars was missing so technically I owe her 5 more at this point. But with her attitude and those Glory Collard Greens, I won’t be returning back! And she can cancel that 5 dollars along with her attitude. Honestly she need to stay in the back or home. After church l felt like some soul food. So l googled some places and saw Southern Crave. I saw the drive was almost 30 minutes so l said since it’s Easter Sunday l just know they gonna show out. I hate having to do this cause as a black woman that supports black own businesses. This was my first and last time going to this place. The experience was not good at all. I walked in there was no greetings no hello no happy Easter no Thank you for coming no have a nice day. Black businesses need to learn that Customer Service matters. Cause we don’t have to come to your establishment to spend our hard earned money especially when there are plenty other places we could have went. I’m not saying kiss tail but show appreciation to customers. On to the food l ordered Chicken and Waffles didn’t see my food until l got home. I was disappointed 8 little wings and waffles that looked like donuts. Omg your suppose to do whole wings and waffles. The chicken had no seasoning or taste the waffles had no taste and gooey. I’m originally from Baltimore, MD & I visited the take out spot on 8/28/2025 for the first time after googling soul food restaurants in the Columbia, SC area. After calling the restaurant to place my order over the phone and not receiving an answer. I ended up just driving to the restaurant and placing an order inside. The young lady was the only person there and what appeared to possibly be only one cook. Once I placed my order, I had to return about 20 minutes later to pick up the food I ordered. On the outside of the establishment it appeared to need a deep cleaning from bugs and other outside elements. I ordered the shrimp and grits, the seafood platter add fried shrimp, with sides as seafood Mac and cheese and yams. I also ordered the brisket baked potato. The shrimp and grits were delicious and even the grits were seasoned well. The brisket potato was delicious and the flounder and fried shrimp were pretty good. The seafood Mac & cheese didn’t have enough seafood to be called “seafood mac & cheese” in my opinion. The yams needed to be cooked longer to me because I prefer tender sweet potatoes.
