Upon arrival I entered the building and proceeded to the Podium, for assistance. Off duty employee Jason "Jay" (who was seated at the counter; wearing a black hoodie) said to Rad on duty Server/Waiter your going to laugh and nodded his head in my direction. Rad then turned and looked at me, not knowing that I heard Jason. Simultaneously Carolyn the Server/Waitress came out from behind the wall and proceeded to seat my grandma and I. Carolyn wasn't aware of what took place asked did we want a booth or table; however she was walking in the direction of the area Rad usually works in. I proceeded to ask Carolyn, "What area are you working in?" She replied in front her usual area but I would have too wait for her, to clean off the table." After being seated, I explained was I heard Jsson say to Rad as I stood at the Podium. Carolyn replied, "People must be careful of what they say." Followed by, "Don't let no one Steal Your Joy."
Jason proceeded to the Register, to be cashed out by Rad, our table was adjacent too the Register. As Jason stood in shorts and Black long sleeves and head still covered in his hoodie/including his face. I brought to his attention that I heard his remark/comment while I stood at the Podium. I further reminded him of his POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE the month before and I still gave him a nice tip and my grandma explained why we still gave him a tip, when one wasn't DESERVED. We didn't even say anything to the Manager.
Jason proceeded to deny directing that comment towards me, while I stood at the Podium earlier. He even got loud and stated, "I'm off the clock." My reply was, "So am I, What are you trying to say?" He and Rad walked in back area of the Dining room and I heard Rad say, "I didn't know y'all were Beefing like that." Please note I'm not Beefing with anyone. It's obvious Jason has a problem, based on the last time he Served us and Displayed "POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE" and I brought it to his attention. Jason appears to be immature and possibly in his mid-late Twenties. It's obvious he need his job and tips because he needed help with paying for his meal on Tuesday May 20, 2025 as he cashed out. Carolyn and a Customer offered to pay for his meal. He was embarrassed and verbally turned down the Financial help, stating the meal cost more today due to not being able to apply his employee discount; because the Entree was already discounted. However, I don't know who paid for his meal because it wasn't my concern.
Carolyn PROVIDED SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, wherein she usually does.
In the future if "BB" or Carolyn isn't there I won't stay and eat. Rad didn't do anything to me personally but I'm aware he and Jason are very close friends or bonus...
Read moreWent to this location for a late night breakfast. And it was a disaster. We were greeted by one of the waitresses when we walked in the door. She started to tell us to go and sit and then realized most of the tables were dirty. We were directed to a table that appeared clean, but had crumbs all over the seats. The other server on shift came over to take care of us. We ordered drinks. 2 cokes, one coffee and an oj. She brought over the oj and 1 coke and said the coffee would be out when it finished brewing. We had to remind her that we needed another soda. No big deal. Then we ordered. Myself and one of my friends ordered omelettes off of the menu. Our other friend ordered 3 Sunny side eggs, hashbrowns, sausage and dry white toast. The waitress was concerned with how she was going to ring it up. And we all said we don't care about the price, just ring it up ala carte. Our food didn't take too long. The omelettes were right. But our friend got sausage, dry toast and 3 over medium eggs. No hashbrowwns. We brought the error to our servers attention and she tried to blame the kitchen. Saying the cook couldn't read English. 5 minutes later our friend got 3 Sunny side eggs but still no hashbrowns. We had to flag our server down again to get the hashbrowns. And she went back to cook mumbling under her breath At this point, we were not sure if she was annoyed with the cook or us. She yelled to the cook that she needed the potatoes. We heard him say you never rang them in. 5 minutes later, out came greasy burnt up hashbrowns like they had been dropped in a deep fryer. When our waitress dropped off the potatoes, she made a bee-line for the front door to go smoke a cigarette. We finished our food. My friend was very annoyed. Our server came back in and we told her the potatoes were burnt and greasy and to get the manager to take them off the check. The manager took the potatoes off the check. But our waitress brought us the copy of the check with potatoes still on the bill. And then tried to argue with us about seat numbers and that the hashbrowns were part of the omelette on seat 2. The manager came out and produced the check with no hashbrowns charged.. The waitress got loud and obnoxious. Yelling about it's all a reason for us not to tip her. I reached into my pocket and gave her a $20 (on a $61 check) and told her she was a very bad server. She proceeded to say that she got her money and didn't care. I know it hard to staff a business where you have an overnight shift. And I have respect for everyone that works in the food service industry. I've done it myself. But this...
Read moreTo be fair the food was good, but the overall experience was just terrible. The manager, Cheryl needs some serious coaching on how to deal with basic issues, and server, Chris really shouldn’t work with the public. They charged me for items they didn’t have, and when I asked for a refund for the two milkshakes they charged me for and didn’t have (because the blender didn’t work), the manager Cheryl then told me to call Denny’s “Help Desk”, and gave me a 1-800 phone number. Ok, I get it, stuff happens, blender isn’t working, but why not call and let the customer know? The staff member, Chris that was working argued that my contact information wasn’t provided to them so they couldn’t call me to tell me they didn’t have two of the four items I had ordered. I have the receipt, and it has my name and phone number on it. The order was placed online for pickup through google food, and I don’t know of any places that let you order without leaving contact information, so the fact that the employee argued about this right in front of the manager (and manager, Cheryl let it happen without saying a word to her employee) was pretty unprofessional. As a former restaurant manager, one way to deal with this would have been to offer a gift card for the amount of the shakes, which were $5.39 each since she couldn’t refund me. Anything would have been better than the way she dealt with this. To expect someone to pay for items that they’re not getting, and I leave a 20% tip (on a pick up order) is just a little out there. By the way, this was at about 1am, and they were not very busy at all. Bottom line is extremely poor management here. Didn’t even attempt to make this situation right, and it would have been very easy to do so, and on top of that the server, Chris (not the manager) was extremely rude and argumentative. The receipt does have my contact information at the top, but I cut it off for the online picture....
