Irishmen — Restaurant in Boca Raton

Scam, bait and switch, 3 times I was denied the beer special. Three separate occasions. On the menu and sign on the wall names the beer. It says $3.00 all day everyday. In America maybe we speak a different language than the Irish. But that means only one thing. 2 times I tried ordering the beer special with dinners for my wife and I the waitress or bartender was rude and made excuses why that beer was not available those days. But with a friend the day before St. Patrick's day the bartender poured the beer on sale. I put the cash plus tip on the bar. He sneaks and puts a bill on the bar and does not take my money and tip, and says nothing. But I was reading between the lines due to previous behavior. I saw the price and said it was for way more money. I questioned him. He says oh today is a special day that the offer is not good today. To the ignorant and problematic person and or people that complained about my baby… being well, a BABY, I hope you feel great about yourselves ruining a family’s night out. I’d never in a million years want to be “that person” and or “Karen” who complains to the manager about a literal innocent child who’s just figuring out the world still. Parents and grandparents who wanted a quick bite around 7 PM before going home and putting their child to bed. The Irishmen shouldn’t offer high chairs if they do not want children in the establishment and should have signs outside the entrance stating no children and or families allowed. This place used to be mine and my family’s favorite local spot (my parents probably eat there twice a week and staff members say hi to them) but yesterday we felt very unwelcome and overall embarrassed - I did not even want to finish my food / drink. This review is because of how I was treated by the manager about my to go order. I called because I was concerned with the entree portion size of the shepherds pie . We eventually made a compromise (but I chose to just write a review, and not worry about returning, or getting the "gift card refund"), yet I'm left feeling very unhappy about how he acted . I used to manage , and it is just not worth it to argue with a customer. The portion of shepherds pie is very small , and that is a fact . Also the website menu does not say that sweet potato fries are an additional charge ( yet he chose to argue again) . It just states that the sandwiches & burgers come with your Choice of side . We were ordering pickup , so we did not have their physical menu. I don't see the point in arguing, especially when I was correct , and looking at the website at that moment!
