We walked in to the restaurant and there was no greeting. We sat down at a booth close to the front door. Our waitress was not friendly and took our order. A family of four then came shortly after us and sat down. We did not place a complicated order ( mexican plate and enchiladas with mole sauce). Soon after, I noticed the family of four had received their food and we were still waiting. Our waitress never came out, she was busy I guess preparing for the next day than taking care of her customers. Finally, when our waitress came out I questioned why is it taking so long. She tells us that our food is coming. The kitchen is not too far away from us and immediatly the female cook kept looking at our table and gave us dirty looks. At this point, I was afraid she would do something to our food. But we stayed and about 20 minutes later received our food. There were no apologies. Our food was luke warm, the rice was burned, the taco meat was cold, and it was all disappointing (since we waited over 45 mins for it). I did not eat all the food. The enchiladas were just rolled corn tortillas with nothing inside (very little cheese and no meat on either plate). My fiance still decides to leave a tip, because he felt this restaurant needed the extra money since there was a lack of food. It was a bad experience and we will never go back...
Read moreThis is our first time at Mague's. We came up from San Antonio to browse Bernie and do a little bit of shopping at quilt stores. Needed to get some breakfast. My wife found this online and we decided to give it a try. The place was packed which is a good sign and not a lot of room between tables I would say that service was pretty fast. Professional but not overly friendly. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered what I call the Unholy trio, lol, language Taco with guacamole, barbacoa with onion cilantro and jalapenos, and a crispy tripas taco. My wife said that the huevos rancheros for some of the best she's had in a long time. The sauce, potatoes especially, and the tortillas were wonderful. I will second hurry view of the tortillas as they were some of the best I've had in Texas the Barbacoa was spot-on, not too greasy, and the addition of the onions, cilantro, and jalapenos kicked it up a notch. The language is in a sauce and was soft plentiful and very very very very very very tasty. Finally, if you like tripas, these are some of the best around. Not too gamey, cooked well. Finally, the coffee was great also. For 30 bucks including tips, this was a treat. The comments about parking and wheelchair accessibility are as is and in no way reflect on the quality of the meal. I highly recommend...
Read moreThe tacos are good, but the staff are very rude and nasty. Dirty looks, mouthing off - my 2 most recent times there I tried paying and when I was asked what I ordered I tried telling the woman but she cut me off and assumed I ordered something else and would not allow me to correct her or speak at all. Then she accused me of trying to pass my bill off to another member of my party - TO that person "He tried saying this was your food, he tried to make you pay it" which was not only a lie but a slanderous attempt at insulting me which she does every time we go there. The last time (and I mean the LAST time) I went I waited for a to-go order so as not to have to deal with her. I and 2 other people were waiting by the door and the same woman came yelling at me specifically for a good 20 seconds starting off with "go wait over there" and then once I got there she started yelling at me stating that I was blocking the door and hurting business, etc. The other 2 people were still at the door wondering if they should come to my new spot or not and the table in front of me were shocked and were murmuring "what the hell?" and were clearly surprised at her behavior.
Magues is known for their terrible attitudes and poor customer service, but they...
