The restaurant looks like a converted house. It’s very cozy except for the chairs. I have never sat in more uncomfortable chairs that jam into your back as you try to relax. It smells like lunch at a school house cafeteria. The food is on par with what you would get in one as well. I was really excited to try this place as they make it seem as though the food is fresh from scratch and it’s not. I ordered a dish with chicken and when it came out I saw that the chicken looked grey and mushy. After biting into a piece I realized that it was mushy and not in fact real chicken, but a chicken product with grill marks painted on and doused with artificial mesquite flavoring before being frozen. It was mushy like a soaked sponge . I wouldn’t eat it and felt deceived! I don’t eat feaux food and don’t appreciate being fed fake meat. The food was ok but in my opinion, kinda expensive for what it was. $36 for a burger and a chicken pita (and 2 drinks). I did not like the chicken. It was rubbery not fresh. We ate here for the first time on Easter Sunday. The fried chicken is excellent. Now, to be honest, if you have a longshoreman appetite, you might be a little disappointed. Two pieces of chicken may not be enough. But, how can any restaurant serve and entree with 2 sides, plus dessert for $11? A fast-food meal costs more than that!
