For quick quality American faire, Applebee's can really nail it. In light of price, food, and speed of service, I'd say this is a good stop for quick-ish bite when passing along.
FOOD: We opted for the 2 for $26 (and opted for the $6 increase for a larger steak and bourbon chicken). The deal comes with boneless wings, which were lemon pepper. They had an excellent crisp on a more thinly breaded exterior. The sauce was properly applied so as not to run from the crust or clump. The bread was a very mild flavor, which allowed the sauce and chicken to blend better by primarily adding texture only. Bourbon chicken was flavorful, with a properly set crisp and sear. The clarified butter drizzle worked well to add heat and moisture, though the butter was pushing it on greasy texture of the mushrooms and onions, as they were a cooked texture, but not browned or having char. The potatoes managed to counterbalance some of the butter. I would order this again*
SERVICE: Service was excellent. Drinks never ran out, but the conversation never interrupted.
ATMOSPHERE: Fairly quiet establishment. If I didn't know better, this location felt more like a quiet diner than the Applebee's I grew up witFor quick quality American faire, Applebee's can really nail it. ATMOSPHERE: Fairly quiet establishment. If I didn't know better, this location felt more like a quiet diner than the Applebee's I grew up with. I appreciate the ability to hold conversation without yelling over second string pop artists singing out their low-rent faire. The only slight drawback to this was, if you're sat next to an over-enthusiastic, braces-clad highschooler, you may hear all about the drama, but it's easy enough to tune out when you can hear your company.
*for flavor, I would eat this meal again. Having a history of hypertension (high blood pressure), the 2570 mg sodium in this meal gave...
Read moreI hate to leave reviews this long, but strongly consider reading it before coming here because this place truly sucks.
This was a horrid experience. It's hard to cover everything that went wrong with this visit, so I'll be concise with the big problems. We were here two days ago from the time of this review.
We were seated fast, but that was it for a long while. The person who ended up being our waitress did stop by to tell us she'd be back soon, but that was it for about 15 minutes.
We ordered drinks, asking about a new soft drink they had, and she told us there were free refills on them so we went ahead and got them.
I kid you not, 25 minutes pass before we are checked on again. We wouldn't have been checked on if I didn't ask someone to get our waitress for us. She was angry and rude that I asked someone to get her for us.
Tons of people are starting to walk out around us at this point, which is weird because it's not particularly busy compared to other trips to Applebee's in the past.
I ordered a lava cake with my dinner and after a total of 55 minutes, my dessert comes out. No word about any one at our table's food mind you. I've never been served dessert before dinner before??
Anyhow, my dessert came with icecream. You could tell it was sitting out before it was brought to me because the icecream was almost all the way melted. Another FIFTEEN minutes before someone (not our waitress) comes out to tell us the food is on the way. Five more minutes we have it. Of course because of how long things were sitting, some of my party got completely cold food and just a few got a couple hot items.
This was just insane. Almost 80$ for the worst service ever. I wish people that hated their jobs would just quit and go apply at the DMV instead of service based jobs.
These were the issues our table faced, but another table we were there with had to wait 30 minutes after finishing to get their receipt because a kiosk was not provided. They also had to find someone to ask for receipts.
I wish I had the mental strength and energy to have asked for...
Read moreI give 5 stars for the kindliness and attendance for the bar attendant, Katherine, and the hostess, Emily, during my experience at this location. I give 5 for them alone and food taste. Our burgers and fries were good too. Minus two stars overall is because of the waitress, who was supposed to be taking care of the tables at the time, I believe Christina - (by process of elimination bc, of the 3 people on the floor, the name on my ticket was not the one who helped me.) I arrived before dinner rush hour, about 430pm on 8/18, to pick up my order and decided to have a quick beer. There were about 5 or 6 tables max, each single people, besides 1 table of 2. It was not busy at all. I've been a waitress, and I would have classified the restaurant as 1 step above dead at the time. Christina only cared about the 1 table of two attractive dudes. She stood there and flirted most of the time with them while everyone else waited and/or left. She never acknowledged my existence and the people around me sat with empty drinks or unattended until she realized how neglectful she had been. Lucky for her they were forgiving. One lady who was waiting since before I got there, ended up leaving, mad. I waved and asked Christina from across the room if I could order, and since the bar tend just arrived, she pawned me off because she apparently was simply "too busy" to serve me a simple beer. As she was walking around and discussing with the hostess that a lady had left, Christina said "I don't care anymore." And continued to walk around the restaurant saying "There was only 1 waitress here and there hasn't even been a bar attendant today." Whining and complaining and generally not giving 2 craps about doing her job. She obviously doesn't know the meaning of hard work and multitasking. If 5 single tables is too much work than maybe waitressing is too hard for her. I left a tip for those who rightfully deserved it, but no tip for her. No tip for no service. Not service industry type unless there's a major attitude change. The arrogance...
