First time diners at Kiko. My husband took me to Kiko for lunch today. First the good: Billy was very nice and very helpful, the restaurant was clean, the food presentation was nice. Now for the bad: almost every item on this menu says it includes some variety of crab: crab meat, snow crab, or crab stick. Seeing the "crab-stick" my husband asked if the crab was real crab or imitation crab. Billy admitted that all the crab on the menu is imitation. I would note that nowhere on the menu does it say that the crab is imitation crab. Lots of people like imitation crab and lots of people buy imitation crab, it's cheaper than real crab, but you shouldn't sell imitation crab as if it's real crab. You should at least spell crab with a K and spell it krab. So, whatever. As they were also out of shrimp and not wanting to eat imitation crab we ordered the Tuna Mango Tataki, the Snow White Roll and the Spicy Tuna Lover Roll. My husband and I love sushi, we are middle aged and have eaten tons of sushi in countless locations all over the country. Something was not right about that tuna. It didn't taste like tuna. It was weird, it had no flavor, and the color was off. There was an odd pink that we've never seen in tuna before. (I'm not saying the tuna was spoiled) I'm questioning whether the tuna was real Maguro or imitation tuna. In hind sight we wish we had asked Billy if the tuna was imitation too, but at that point we were just over it. In summary, if you like imitation sushi with good customer service this is the...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years but I’ve noticed that the last 3 or 4 times I’ve come, the portions have gotten smaller. I always order a number 2 roll and it costs me just under $16…I was on my way to completing my 3rd frequent buyer sushi card but unfortunately, I think I’m done. When you ask and pay for something extra and the roll and it looks even smaller than the last time, it just means that there is too much cost cutting or not enough consistency….its too bad because even though lately the number 2 roll has changed in taste depending on who makes it, they still aren’t too bad….just way smaller than they used to be….sorry guys but my semi weekly trip to Walmart next door won’t end in a sushi roll...
Read moreWe were celebrating our anniversary, and I wanted my husband to have sushi. He looooooves it, and I despise it. Fortunately, I am married to a generous man who typically lets me have my way. 😝 But I am so very glad to have discovered Kiko! Whereas most sushi restaurants I've been to are oppressively dark and depressing, Kiko is bright and open. And the food is divine! The veggie mix was so tender and perfectly seasoned that I almost preferred it to my filet! My husband got ngiri and some other sushi-y things that I don't understand because fish isn't my favorite - but he scarfed it down with the ginger and Wasabi that were beautifully presented with it! I highly recommend it for sushi...
