A Surprising Tale of Customer Service at Taco Bell in Bolivar, Missouri
In today's fast-paced world, quality customer service has become a crucial element for businesses to thrive. However, sometimes we encounter situations that leave us questioning the standards we expect. In this medium general, we delve into a surprising incident at a Taco Bell in Bolivar, Missouri, where the lack of customer service raises eyebrows and ignites a feeling of astonishment.
As I walked into the Taco Bell in Bolivar, Missouri, I couldn't help but notice my order, already assembled and waiting on the counter. Two employees emerged from the back area, food in hand, making fleeting eye contact but never inquiring if I needed assistance. To add to the perplexity, another woman slouched over the service counter, seemingly indifferent to the situation.
Despite the presence of my order and a seemingly busy staff, no employee bothered to address my presence. After a few minutes passed, one of the workers casually stated that they would attend to me shortly. However, time continued to tick away, and my order remained untouched on the counter.
Frustrated by the lack of attention and the untouched meal, I finally mustered the courage to call out for help. The woman, who previously seemed uninterested and disengaged, sluggishly lifted herself from the counter and informed me that her co-worker was working on my order. It wasn't until another employee appeared that I was finally handed my long-overdue meal.
To my astonishment, as I conveyed my dissatisfaction to the employee who had been slouched over the counter, she dismissively advised me to mind my own business and stay in my own lane. Her sarcastic response left me dumbfounded, as I was simply highlighting the lack of customer service that was not only apparent to me but also impacted the overall dining experience.
This surprising incident begs the question: what happened to the priority of customer service in this establishment? As a customer, I entered Taco Bell with certain expectations - timely service, attentiveness, and a hospitable environment. However, my encounter left me feeling disregarded, frustrated, and disappointed.

The shocking lack of customer service, coupled with unexpected reactions from employees, places this incident in a distinct category. Read moreI try to avoid leaving reviews, but this place has gone completely downhill. I waited 20 minutes for my food (along with many other customers, including a doordasher who gets in trouble if he is late) and what I saw in the store was even worse. I saw one employee on their phone in the middle of the restaurant doing nothing, I saw one employee not wearing gloves while working, and another employee wringing out their apron as they were working without changing gloves or washing their hands. Last I checked, all three of those are health code violations. Then after I get my food I get back to my house and they managed to forget not one, not two, but three different items in my order. I paid $20 for food and only ended up getting $15 of it, and it was made in a disgusting environment. I love Taco Bell, but this one is a disgrace.
UPDATED 9 MONTHS LATER Recently I went back to this Taco Bell and they fixed everything I complained about above. My food came out hot and fast, my full order was there, the staff was friendly, and the food looked and tasted good. I am unsure if I just got lucky this time or if they really fixed whatever they were doing wrong, but this was a much better experience than previously. Hopefully it was poor management that...
Read moreI used the app to order ahead, and went through the drive-through and let them know that the app order was mine. The guy working the window was very friendly, and they got my food out to me very quickly. Unfortunately, I had customized several items in my order, and was charged extra for them, but did not receive them. I didn't bother to call and complain, because in all honesty, I don't think management cares. If they did, this would not be a regular occurrence. Unfortunately, it IS a regular occurrence. Whether you use the app, or you come and order through the drive-through or in the dining Room, if you order extra anything, or add things to your items, regularly, they are forgotten. And I can't imagine that management does anything about it, because it continues to occur. And there are many of the same people that have been working there for a long time. I don't know if it's apathy, or they don't take the time to read the order, but unfortunately this does happen very often. Unfortunately we don't have a Del Taco, or a Taco Bueno, or something like that, as an alternative. So if we want fast Mexican food, this is where we eat. And if we want to eat later, it's the only place open past midnight. At least in...
