The service was the worst I had ever had it Waffle House. I generally love WaffleHouse and I was taking somebody who told me she didn’t like Waffle House and I said oh it’s really good and then we got there. Our order was taken and we were given our coffee, but no cream or sugar or spoons. After waiting a long time, I got up and got the spoons myself and asked for cream. She finally brought it. Then we had also asked for water and we sat there so long that we finished our coffee and no one had brought water and no one came and offered us some more coffee and my friend has to drink a lot of water because of medicine she was taking so finally she went out to the car to get her water and coffees we had gotten earlier so we could have some coffee while we waited. They brought out one plate of food, no silverware and the meat on the food was missing. We waited for silverware and no one came so I went and got silverware myself. Then about five minutes after the first disappeared that waitress brought out the bacon for my dish, but not the rest of my dish. I could see our waitress, just standing by the kitchen, probably waiting for the food, but she could’ve use that time to bring us some coffee and water and silverware. By the time my food came, we had spoken with a different waitress, who told us that our waitress was a lousy waitress, and she would take care of us, but we still waited by the time I got my food. My friend was already done and I had to scarf my food down not to keep her waiting. The second came up to us telling us she’s giving us a discount because of our wait. and the way the food was served: she gave us the 10% discount that we were supposed to get a seniors and then she took two dollars off for the extras in our potatoes. That’s not two dollars each. That was two dollars total. My friend will never go back to a waffle House again and I will never go to that waffle House although I will still go to the one near me because I’ve never had a bag...
Read moreSo I'm getting around to this review quite a bit later than our visit, but we had SUCH a pleasant experience that I haven't forgotten that I needed to do it!!
We came in about 2 months ago, on August 21st (a Tuesday) at around 1:00am, after a HUGE concert. There was a lot of concert-goers (us included) that were staying at the hotel that's directly next to this Waffle House, so you can imagine how busy they were at this hour.
We got there around roughly 1:00am, and didn't get seated for a good hour, but understandably so. That's at no fault of the staff though, that's simply having a full house with people that want to take time to enjoy their meal. One of those in our group had only ever been to Waffle House once (down in Florida) and said it was awful. We were all flabbergasted, and I told him that's because it was in Florida! Waffle House is a STAPLE of the mid-west, and the mid-west does it right! We were BOUND and determined to show him that Waffle House is where it's at!
Needless to say, the staff did exactly that. The four of them kept up with the craziness as best as they could, none of them seemed upset or grumpy or annoyed. Our server was very attentive and made sure we always had what we needed. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious, our order was correct and our drinks were regularly tended to. We were MORE than taken care of. I think it goes without saying that our buddies opinion on Waffle House was changed after that night!
Read moreI don't know about other Waffle House locations, but I was highly disappointed in this one. Honestly, I don't expect much from them as it is. The only reason I went is because my daughter asked me to take her there for her birthday. When we walked in, the place was pretty full, except for a few seats at the lower end of the bar. But we couldn't see them through the people sitting at the bar and tables. None of these servers let us know the seats were available, and no one greeted us when we came in either. We had only seen that there was a table that needed to be bussed. And so we were waiting on that. However, no one ever bussed the table. Finally, I started looking around and saw the open seats. Once we were seated, it's still took another 15+ minutes for anyone to come ask if we would like something to drink. It wasn't until we spoke to one of the waitresses that we were finally addressed. I wouldn't have eaten there if my daughter hadn't asked me to take her there because my diet is mostly vegetarian. As I inquired about a veggie omelet, the waitress said, "So you want the Santa Fe Omelet." I responded, "Yes, if it only has veggies." Because I assumed the waitress knew what goes in the omelet, I didn't think about it any further. But when she brought the omelet to me, there were small chunks of ham throughout. And the waitresses' excuse was that she didn't know. I almost decided not to eat anything but was trying to make the best of it for my daughter, and so I asked the cook to remake it without the ham. Overall, the food quality is poor. I didn't enjoy eating the omelet, even without any meat. I'm just grateful that my daughter enjoyed her food. On a brighter note, the coffee was much better than it was the last time I was there over...
